Hello

Good Morning

Pleasei want to find out what are the cost implication for sending my passport because i got my PPR.

Am I just paying DHL (To and Fro) alone to have my passport forwarded to VFS office here in Lagos for onward forwarding to ACCRA, or I still have to pay again another fee separately to have it forwarded to ACCRA also.

Hello, Anyone please help with this question.

I believe all provinces need NOC 0621, but British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick may have higher job opportunities for that NOC than others.

Congratulations on your PPR. You only need to pay for one-way delivery.

If you did your biometrics in lagos VFS, you do not need to pay any other fees except for sms notification which is optional.

The wait is over
It will reach everyone.

I heard about the express entry on the 12th of September 2016. A family friend was trying to convince my husband and me to try it but my husband refused. Fast forward to 2018 our family driver asked me to put him through the Canada visa lottery...I started to ask questions and did further research that was how we agreed to start the process that year. We both finished from foreign universities so WES was a breeze for us. When it was time to take IELTS a friend convinced my husband that he didn't need to take it ( which was true at that time) I just had my 2-second child a few weeks before the exam but was adamant about taking it. The result was L9, R8.5, S7, W6.5. I didn't know I could remark then.
When I took the 2nd IELTS someone I met there told me I should have remarked the first but it was too late. The second result wasn't better than the first so I took a break from the Canada journey to focus on my new job at the time

In late 2019 I decided to try IELTS again. And got 6.5 in writing again.... I decided to do some tutorials. My tutor would always say my writing was good and she couldn't understand why I wasn't getting up to 7. I decided I would sit for the computer-based test because I had convinced myself it was my handwriting that was the problem. On the week of my exam was when the lockdown started so I couldn't sit for it. When the IELTS examination resumed I rebooked for the 1st of August but they replied it was full. So I had to pick the Day God had made the 8th of August. The exam went well. I didn't even see the email that the result was ready till the next morning, when I checked I screamed so loud my kids joined too any chance to make noise...... L9, R9, S 7.5, W 7.
My tutor was like I should remark. So I could get 7.5 in writing... I'm like Aunty cool down oo this 7 is okay for me. my husband also took his IELTS and passed. Our CRS was at 479 I created my profile, and the next ITA was the 16th of September so I got it.

I was a frequent Nairaland visitor till @sassywendy added me to the telegram group and I forgot naira land. I'm grateful for the Post ita group because questions were answered reference letter was reviewed.
Every other aspect went smoothly and I submitted my application on the 28th of November 2020. I was hoping with the way things were going then that by May 2021 I won't be in Nigeria, but that was not the case. Sent countless web forms and got that your file is in the queue for review by an officer. I ordered GCMS notes and only medical and criminality was passed everything was not started Sent a web form to Hongkong they said they have finished the minor processing of my file and returned it to Accra. Hongkong you are a suspect because you didn't do anything. There were happy and sad days. I even started considering the study route. But in all we thank God.

When people started receiving ADR in December I started to get my house in order, because I didn't want to be caught off guard

When people started calling to know where their file was, I called every day for two weeks with no hope. Then I sent Sydney a mail and was told my file was in Canada from Accra. I was a bit calm. When NOV 2020 started getting the Trinity ADR I put my documents in order and booked Medicals for 22nd Feb expecting ADR to come and nothing. That Friday, I sent a compassionate mail to the PPR mail, Accra mail, and submitted a WeB form, that I was ready to travel. Ordered GCMS notes but I believed that I will have my PPR before it arrives. ( it hasn't arrived)

I had decided that after my medical I will just submit schedule A PCC and updated proof of funds and also proof of income from employer whether I get ADR or not. Luckily the next Monday I was calling IRCC as usual and the lines were busy I decided to close my eyes a bit and a friend's call interrupted my sleep. The next thing I saw was mail from IRCC my chest ooo.....I got ADR for everything I had to prepare except updated proof of funds.

I submitted my ADR on the 17th of February and my status changed to not available on the 18th. We had our medical done on the 22nd of Feb but IOM refused to transmit on time. I decided to call IRCC to know at least if everything is passed let me know it's Medical remaining, and that was exactly what I was told....the joy that day eh. I slept like a baby. The next day I sent IOM a mail..they replied I should give them 7days. I woke up at 3 am on the 7th day composed another mail and sent it to them.

Since I was in a writing mood I decided to write down my journey because I know that when the Golden mail arrives I won't remember what I have been through.

This silence from IRCC after my medical passed was deafening some days my anxiety got the best of me. Only my prayers help me through it, waiting for something that doesn't have an expected time for completion is the hardest.

Called everyother week and same story all parameters are passed waiting for final approval. Sent countless mails to IRCC and MPs to no avail.

But on God's appointed day and time the mail landed.
If you are reading this it's PPR!!!!!

This journey started on naira land even though it's been a while I visited here. I decided to share my testimony to encourage someone that delay is not denial.

April 7th - Dropped passport at DHL for transfer to VFS Lagos.
April 8th - Passport delivered to VFS Lagos.
April 13th - Passport dispatched to VFS Accra.
April 22nd - Passport received by VFS Accra and dispatched to IRCC Accra.
April 25th - Passport received by IRCC Accra.
April 28th - Decision Envelope received by VFS Accra from IRCC for dispatch to VFS Lagos.
April 29th - Application approved and counterfoil generated.

That's exactly 22 days but the journey hasn't ended. I'll inform the house when passport and COPR are in my hands.

Big congrats to all those who have gotten their PPRs.
Meanwhile, AOR Dec, only update is that my medicals has been extended till next year. Medical extension, is it in anyway a good news of PPR coming forth shortly?

They won't deliver until after the holidays because I got may 5th for my estimated delivery date.
If you are in Lagos, keep tracking on their website, then call that you want to come and pickup in their office. You should get it before Wednesday

Yes i believe you’re paying for it to go to Lagos VFS. Unless you want to bypass all of that and send directly to accra VFS for faster processing. The procedure for that is on this thread somewhere.

. Wow that was fast!!

Using lagos route is unstable and unpredictable so it’s up to the individual to thoroughly research and decide.

Just came across this and thought to share, pick whatever lesson you want to pick from it. My learning point is to check that whatever extra certificate or degree you plan to take for extra points can be evaluated properly so time/money/effort will not be wasted. Also research other evaluation bodies. They may be able to give a different result.

Sad part is this person waited almost 2yrs only to get rejected.

Edit: Not that it matters, this person is Indian i believe and most of them trust the agents to do everything for them. Some don’t bother to read anything online. I see them post things like my agent refused to give me gckey login or my agent submitted the docs and i don’t know what to do.

I feel bad for this person but at the same time, he’s lowkey at fault. Why would he claim points with a diploma that was already stated on his ECA as unrecognized? Even if he wasn’t aware, why didn’t he ask questions before using it since the ECA report didn’t look normal? He didn’t do his due diligence at all. Imagine getting rejected for something so silly. If he had asked questions, people would have pointed him in the direction of another certification like cima/Accra that would have taken less than 3 months even. Moral of the story here is that when it comes to something as life changing and important as immigration, it’s definitely not the time to be careless or doing « I too know ». If you aren’t sure about any thing, Make sure you always ask questions, even if it means flooding the group. Asking questions won’t remove money from your bank account. Someone would always reply you.

Although we are all upset with IRCC for the delays and backlogs, in terms of their requirements, they have been more than fair and transparent. There is no other country that I know of that lists what they want you to provide and even gives details of how they will assess your PR application. This issue of non recognised university is on page 1. For non-Nigerians who are not familiar with Nairaland, it is on IRCC website.

Lesson for me is that we should read, research, ask questions, then read some more.

Very sad.

Good morning house, I just realised that my EE profile will expire next month. So I need the following clarifications:

1. I am currently in Canada on a visiting Visa. Should I withdraw my EE application and create another one and state my country of residence as Canada? I have been in the pool since last year.

2. Should I use the new portal instead of the old GSkey portal? I have checked the new portal from which I applied for my visit visa but didnt see where I could start an application for EE.

Thank you very much.
