kufre2010: PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO (OBJ) TREATMENT & COMING 2023 In the whole 8years of OBJ's administration he did not see a single Hausa/Fulani northerner worthy of appointment as Service Chief, IGP or DG (DSS). Victor Malu, Martin Luther Agwai, Jonah Wuyep, Luka Yusuf, Ibrahim Ogehi, then IGP Tafa Balogun, Musliu Smith, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro up to the DG (DSS) Col. Aare (rtd), were his selected appointees to oversee our security architecture. Where appointments were to be made from Kano or Sokoto (whole seat of Chaliphate) he would look for the Adamu Baikis, the Solomon Matankaris who are indegenous Christians of the area. If Hausas/Fulanis complained, Obj’s response was, “all the appointees were your people, brothers from the North”. Of course they were; he even used sme tactics to play a very dangerous divide and rule politics with northerners; his arrow - headmen, Jerry Gana & Solomon Lar were part and parcel of the Villa cabals, members of his kitchen cabinet who determined most appointment made by the government Agencies. Google all the very sensitive position then, there was no single Hausa or Fulani there. CBN, Joseph Sanusi later Soludo. Custom Buba Gyan, NNPC Edmund Dakoru, to mention just a few. Never forget that OBJ flushed out more than 500 soldiers of Northern extraction, from the ranks of Major and above, who held political appointments during the past military administrations, including orderlies and ADCs. Those who survived his hammer, like Bamalli Nuhu were assembled and bombed in the mountainous region; between Benue and Cross River States. Obasanjo’s civil service reform were mainly targeted at northerners who mostly, (80%) became victims; from NEPA,Maritime, NPA and Aviation etc. Northerners were major casualties. Similarly all the replacements that followed were from his kiths and kins, and his god sons. Prior to 1999, more than 15 international airlines operate or had their routes to Kano, but Obasanjo made sure he decimated that to only 3 before he left. Very very fresh in our memories is how he stylishly killed all the Northern textiles, groundnuts and cotton pyramids as well as many other agronomic economies; particularly the poultry using the hoax claim of “birds flu” conspiracy that obliterated all major players in the sector, from northern region. He also deliberately opened our boarders for the importation of all kinds of agricultural goods, which tactically killed virtually all local industries in Kano, Kaduna, Gusau to mention just a few. He stated and ensured DIC and Peugeot and Steyr plants became comatose.virtually all critical northern enterprises were put out of business with deadly attendant consequences. For example, in Kano alone there were more than 5000 factories / industries located in Challawa, Bompai and Sharada industrial estates. Before Obj’s tenure ended he made sure 80% of those factories folded up, and the remaining 20% were operating at half level, below minimal capacities due to his well designed, well executed, skewed economic policies. Remember the housing, monetization and privatisation policies he used our people to execute? This program was conceptualised and well executed to basically empower his kiths and Kins to owned choice properties in Abuja and Lagos. The privatisation was used to catapult cronies and surrogates, as well as God sons, into multi-billionaires. People like Mike Adenuga, Fola Adeola, Jimoh Ibrahim, Jim Ovia, Chris and the Andy Ubahs, to mention just a few. Most of these people were, prior to 1999, using night buses to & fro Lagos/Abuja. Incidentally within a span of short period, all were flying private jets, while the country, North in particular was rapidly sliding backwards. One can continue on and on; why the north and northerners tolerated all that, only God knows. The current clamor for self determination by some states from previous regions are nothing but blackmails that, to me, are dead on arrival. Rather than experiencing the Obj treatment again, it suffices if every single region go its separate way. The north can not afford to make the 1999 blunder again. Democracy is a game of numbers; anybody who thinks he/she is competent to lead us should come out and contest. The north is not ready to concede to any blackmail. |

Yobe 744 37. Zamfara 543 Not specified 518 TOTAL: 89,511 By Dr Joe Abah - DG, Bureau of Public Service Reforms". (C): Johnson Andrew, this is the Analyzed data based on population figures of each state. THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF PUBLIC SERVICE REFORMS, RELEASED STATISTICS OF EMPLOYMENTS INTO OUR PUBLIC SERVICE. THE RAW FIGURES PER STATE ARE (A). EMPLOYMENT INTO THE PUBLIC SERVICE NE with a population of 19.0m has 7,793 NW with a population of 35.8m has 8,806 SE with a population of 16.4m has 16,540 NC with a population of 20.3m has 17,661 SS with a population of 21.0m has 18,038 SW with a population of 27.6m has 19,620 To appreciate this figures, it is necessary to find out how many employees are taken from every 1 million people in each of the geographical zones. The result is: 1st. SE has 1,009 Employees per million 2nd. NC has 970 Employees per million 3rd. SS has 859 Employees per million 4th SW has 711 Employees per million 5th NE has 410 Employees per million 6th NW has 246 Employees per million Here we can see that South Eastern Zone has over 1000 people engaged in the public service of Nigeria in every 1 million Igbo people, whereas only 246 people are engaged in North West! Remember that this is the Zone of the President of Nigeria. Curiously South West, the Zone of the Vice President is the least in Southern Nigeria with the employment of 711 people in a million. It is pertinent to see the trend as regards Political Office holders. Probably, those that lost out in the Public Service, are compensated with Political offices. Let's perform sample surgical operation on the political employees. (B . POLITICAL APPOINTMENT We all have the statistics of political appointees of the current Buhari administration. NW has 51political appointees from 7 states NC has 47 political appointees from 6 states NE has 45 political appointees from 6 states SW has 45 political appointees from 6 states SS has 45 political appointees from 6 States SE has 41 political appointees from 5 states These translate to: 1st. SE: 2.50 appointees in a million. 2nd. NE: 2.37 appointees in a million. 3rd. NC: 2.34 appointees in a million. 4th. SS: 2.14 appointees in a million. 5th. SW:1.63 appointees in a million. 6th. NW:1.42 appointees in a million. Alternatively: 1st. SE: has 1 appointee in every 400,000 2nd. NE: has 1 appointee in every 422,000 3rd. NC: has 1 appointee in every 427,000 4th. SS: has 1 appointee in every 467,000 5th. SW: has 1 appointee in every 614,000 6th. NW: has 1 appointee in every 704,000 Once again topping the list of beneficiary is South East with one political appointee for every 400,000 people. As if it is an intentional act, NW, from where the President hails has the least of 1 political appointees for every 704, 000 people while the figure for Osinbajo's Zone is 614,000 and is the least in the South. THIS IS NOT MY DEFINITION OF "MARGINALIZATION" BEING PEDDLED BY THE IGBOS THAT ARE, IN FACT THE BIGGEST BENEFICIARY IN NIGERIA. FIGURES DON'T LIE. What makes me laugh is when i see some Yoruba crying for the Igbos when the latter talk about Marginalization. They should be crying for themselves. |

Oksman:PMB doesn't have more than 7 appointees from Katsina state. Ogun tops Buhari’s 190 political appointees, South-east least represented. Ogun State in South-west Nigeria has the highest number of political appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari since his re-election in 2019 holding 17 out of a total 190 appointments, a document exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES has revealed. It is followed closely by Adamawa State with 14, and Kano, Lagos and Oyo states with 12 appointees each. They are trailed by Katsina, Osun, Edo and Ondo with eight appointees apiece, Kwara and Ekiti with seven each while Delta comes next with six appointees. States with the least appointments, according to the document, are Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Imo, Plateau and Zamfara, all of which have one political appointment each. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has no single political appointee. Ogun is the home state of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. Zonal distribution On a zonal basis, the South-west geo-political zone, comprising Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti, tops the list with 64 appointees. The North-west, Mr Buhari’s home zone, which has seven states altogether, comes a distant second with 37 appointees. The states in the zone are Kebbi, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara and Katsina where Mr Buhari hails from. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/396186-ogun-tops-buharis-190-political-appointees-south-east-least-represented-full-details.html |

Not that anything is wrong with appointing Oyo indigenes. But I think the point is that the opportunities needed to be spread around, not jus for people from one side. Some people are following Buhari's footsteps. I know the man wants to use that for bragging rights when he tries to become Oyo governor in 2023. |
