Azerbaijani journalists threw a roll of toilet paper at national team coach Berti Vogts in an expression of dismay at the side's performances under the former Germany boss.lost four of their five Euro 2012 qualifiers Vogts, 64, has been at the Azerbaijan helm since 2008 but has won just two competitive games in three years, with the Odlar Yurdu currently sitting bottom of Euro 2012 qualifying Group A.

Azerbaijan had been second bottom, but a 2-1 defeat to rivals Kazakhstan on Friday has left them rooted to the foot of the table and the Azeri journalists made their feelings clear ahead of the Group A clash with Germany on Tuesday.

A roll of toilet paper was flung at Vogts and he was also presented with a jug of water of the type used in Muslim countries to wash after using the toilet.

The former Scotland and Nigeria coach was quoted as calling it an "attack" in Russian newspaper Sport-Express , while Vogts has been quoted as saying he would "discuss the next steps with my lawyers".

Vogts told Germany's SID agency: "I would have long ago left if it were not for my friendship with the federation president. I have experienced many things but nothing like that. I do not have the words to describe this."
