France Football magazine - organizers of the Ballon d'Or award - has denied rumours emanating from Portuguese media claiming that Lionel Messi has won his 7th Ballon d'Or trophy.

“It's a huge bullshit, like what we've seen for ten days. A big bluff," director of France Football magazine Pascal Ferre was quoted by Actu Foot.

Messi is one of the top 5 contenders for the award, and is being tipped heavily to win it ahead of Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Jorginho and N'Golo Kante.

However, we all have to wait for the voting to be completed and the winner officially announced.
