OPEN HEAVEN 7 NOVEMBER 2021 SUNDAY: YE SHALL DECREE A THING

OPEN HEAVEN 7 NOVEMBER 2021 MEMORIZE: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23

OPEN HEAVEN 7 NOVEMBER 2021 BIBLE READING JOB 22:23-30

23. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

24. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

25. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

26. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

27. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy Vows.

28. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

29. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

30. He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

OPEN HEAVEN 7 NOVEMBER 2021 MESSAGE
There are many types of prayers. Today, we shall be discussing the prayer of decrees because there is a level you would get to in spiritual warfare at which prayers of supplication or intercession may not be adequate.

Our Lord Jesus Christ in our memory verse today assures us that whatever we command shall obey us. In Mark 11:24, He also said: “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

A prayer of decree creates; it does not take No for an answer. More often, only those who walk intimately with God engage effectively in prayers of decrees.

The Bible says: “Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hand’s command ye me.” “Isaiah 45:11”

In Ezekiel 37:1-28, Ezekiel prayed a prayer of decrees and the dry bones lived again. I decree that every mountain threatening the fullness of joy in your life is removed today, in Jesus name.

This is because it is written that whenever we say unto a mountain Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, our words shall come to pass, according to our memory verse today.

Some years ago, a couple trusting God for the fruit of the womb came to us for prayers. When they disagreed about what sex the baby should be, we intervened by decreeing that they would have a set of twins – a boy and a girl.

They keyed into that prayer of decree and had a set of twins a boy and a girl. I decree that your expectations shall be fulfilled far beyond your imagination, in Jesus name.

For us to effectively engage in the prayer of decrees, however, we must abide in Christ and His words must abide in us (John 15:7).

This means you must be born again and live a life of total obedience unto God. If you had been born again but fell into sin, now is the time to repent and return to God.

Our Bible reading today summarises this message excellently; if you are on the side of God, you will declare a thing and it shall come to pass.

OPEN HEAVEN 7 NOVEMBER 2021 PRAYER POINT

My Father, I decree according to Your word: every mountain threatening my destiny is removed now, in Jesus name.

OPEN HEAVEN 7 NOVEMBER 2021 HYMN

STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

1. Standing on the promises of Christ my king, through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.

CHORUS
Standing, standing, standing on the promises of God my Savior; standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God.

3. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord, bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
standing on the promises of God.

4. Standing on the promises I cannot fall, listening every moment to the Spirit’s call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God.

RCCG Sunday School Student Manual 7 November 2021 – Lesson 10

TOPIC: Dynamics Of Prayer (RCCG Sunday School Student Manual 7 November 2021)

MEMORY VERSE: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16
BIBLE PASSAGE: Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) (RCCG Sunday School Student Manual 7 November 2021)

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

INTRODUCTION: Simply put, prayer is talking to God; it is our way of communicating our thoughts, needs, and desires to Him. Prayer is an avenue that God has provided for us as believers to make known the deepest feelings of our hearts to Him. The Bible has many things to say about the subject of prayer. For the purpose of this study, we shall group prayers into levels, types and categories.

LESSON OUTLINES

TYPES AND LEVELS OF PRAYER
CATEGORIES OF PRAYER
TYPES AND LEVELS OF PRAYER

From the biblical point of view, prayer can be of various types. That is, there can be prayers of: thanksgiving (Ps.104); praise (Ps.34:1); worship (Ps.18:1-2; John 4:23-24): supplications which is a prayer of pleading particularly by a sinner who is repenting (1 Kgs 8:46-50). Intercession that is, pleading for someone else (Num. 14:11-21).

The levels of prayer are: prayer of demand as found in Matthew 6:9-11; prayer of command (lsa. 45:11) and prayer of decree (Job 22:28) as demonstrated by Elijah in 1 Kings 17:1. A decree is a kind of prayer we say to challenge all those who are trying to block our ways (2 Kgs. 1:9-12; Acts 13:6-12).
All these prayers are useful to believers depending on their state of mind, situations being addressed, leading of the Spirit, etc. As Christians, we must put our faith in the God who answers prayers and not on our supposed ‘prayer skills’.

CATEGORIES OF PRAYER

Prayer can also be in categories. Casual prayers are those regular prayers we pray daily. These include the usual thanksgiving in the morning, blessing the name of the Lord (Ps.103:1-5), the prayer you pray when you want to eat, travel etc. A higher level is the prayer that control heavens (Josh 10:10-12). This is the kind of prayer you should be praying when age is dropping on you and you have not fulfilled your purpose. Another category is the prayer that brings angels down to do your bidding (Dan.6:20-22; Acts 12:5-1.

Another category is the prayer that can bring God Himself down (Dan. 3:16-1Z: 24-25).

There is a kind of prayer that will cause you to fly (Gen 32:24-28; Gen.33:1-6). Jacob prayed and ‘flew’ from fear to peace, from death to life and from rejection to acceptance. He prayed and all of a sudden the storm in his life became permanently still. The kind of prayer that will cause you to fly is the kind of prayer that cannot wait till tomorrow.

If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, please do so now urgently so that you will be able to pray and God will hear you. Ask Him to save your soul, promise Him you will be committed to Him and Him alone. Then, your prayers can attract heavenly attention.

CONCLUSION:
To every believer who is willing to pray, God is waiting to answer.

Bible reading for the week
Monday: Psalm 65:1-4 (KJV)
1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. 2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. 3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away. 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Tuesday: 1 Peter 3:12 (KJV)
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
Wednesday: 2 Kings 1:9-15 (KJV)
9 Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down. 10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. 11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly. 12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. 13 And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight. 14 Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight. 15 And the angel of the Lord said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.

Thursday: Psalm 114:1-8 (KJV)
1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. 5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? 6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; 8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

Friday: 2 Kings 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. 2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying, 3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord. 6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

Saturday: Psalm 27:1-14 (KJV)
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. 4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. 7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. 9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. 12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. 13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Sunday: Psalm 126:1-6 (KJV)
1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. 3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
