No, it is not. Baptism means dead to sin, resurrected with Christ. Why did one need to be baptized? Isn't Christ the same irrespective of the denomination? |

Kobojunkie: So what is the difference between d kingdom of God and paradise? Where is the kingdom of God and where is paradise? Since u say Jesus didn't ascend into heaven (kingdom of heaven) after resurrection, where did he ascend to? Any scriptural backing? Where did u get ur opinion that "Baptism is the door into the Kingdom of God it a must one be baptized before granted entry into the Kingdom of God". |

It depends on the kind of baptism u did earlier. If its baby baptism done in Catholic n other orthodox churches, its not regarded as baptism in pentecostal churches. Its only baptism by immersion, the one u do after accepting Jesus as your Lord and saviour when u are conscious of yoursef either as a teenager or an adult not the one ur parents took u to church at 3 months and water is sprinkled on your head. Immersion is what is regarded as baptism either in pentecostal churches or Baptist Churches. You need to be conscious of your self, confess Jesus as your Lord and saviour and be immersed in water. So if its not immersion you've had earlier at your previous church, you do not need to be batized again. |

With modern day church practises, it's not entirely up to you. The pastor, leader or dogma of that new church may insist that you become baptised again. |

lexy2014: Infact, I don't understand at all. I have been baptized by immersion in my former church (Foursquare) at the Unilag lagoon front years ago, and I have my certificate intact. Now the RCCG presently I am planning to join their workforce insisted that I should go through all the classes again which I obliged to, Infact, weeks from now they are planning to conduct Baptism for our set. Funny enough I asked several of our Teachers in the church, all they said; "it is RCCG policy". To be honest, churches should not subjected already baptised Christians to another round of this process especially someone that have done it thoroughly in a church like Foursquare Gospel Church. Infact, if I compare both churches process my former church is even more thorough than what I am being thought in my new church. Countless times my class teachers always asked me how I did so well in the class test but all thanks to my prior knowledge in the whole process from my former church. So in a nutshell, going through all the process all over again for someone like me, is like someone that is already in Jss1 asked to rewrite common entrance again because the new school insisted I have to retake common entrance examination before i can be admitted into their own Jss1 class. Even if this done in the secular world , I believe in Christianity it should not be so, because on Judgement day nobody will be asked to identify the name or denomination of the churches they belong to. |

Etizz: Na the reason Paul write this to the Corinthians. 1 Corinthians 1 : 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas[b]”; still another, “I follow Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. Change Paul and replace it with the name of the church you belong. Just maybe maybe you will see the answer to your question. 1 Like |

I'm guessing the new church is R.C.C.G. They are the ones with such disgusting doctrine. When my aunt switched from Baptist to Redeem, she was told to get baptized again despite the fact that it was the same water Immersion they did her in Baptist. Long Story short, aunty refused saying she can't get baptized twice. When she died they denied her body entry inside the church because she wasn't baptised in R.C.C.G. Only baptised members are brought into the church when they die. DISGUSTING DOCTRINE! 2 Likes |

Kobojunkie:Our people will rather listi to their pastor than Jesus. I had to go out by 2am on Friday to tell a church that wasn't upto 15people to stop disturbing my sleep. A group that doesn't even need a microphone mounted giants speakers outside in the name of praise and worship. I would have released my dog on them if they didn't reduce their noise as their pastor agreed with me. 1 Like |

lexy2014:Not forced. Pls don't get me wrong it's not necessary to redo that's why I said it's never too much. Asking about Jesus. Do u even know Jesus was without sin as a man? Do u know He was perfect? Baptism I believe should be done properly and out of personal conviction. The open coming here to ask probably doesn't know the meaning. Baptism is an identification with Christ and should be done in spirit and truth not just proper immersion in water. If he feels conviction in his spirit to identify properly now or if he doesn't feel the need to redo it is his choice. Nobody know finish hence I said it's never enough. |

Kobojunkie:The pastor must have thought I was an evil spirit to have been there by that hour of the night. Want to go there with my dog but just didn't want a stampede. I told the pastor it was ungodly to force people to stay awake just because you are serving God. No one in my street was at the church and this is just a rented flat in a building that's still under construction ony street. Such prayers should be done on the most of people. And for security reasons, no one would here his neighbor calling for help if something is happening because of the noise. I couldn't even hear myself. 1 Like |
