It depends at what rate the battery charger/inverter charges at.

The higher the charge rate (10A, 20A, 30A, 40A), the larger the power needed to run it.

Think of it like an AC.

Only lasted for 3hrs with just 2 ceiling of fans
I am really confused

Your inverter battery charger will not have more than a 10a charger at best (this is an estimation), it might be even 5A.

So...charged it for 7hrs x 10a = 70A, this is not a full charge.

I have a mercury 1.2kva inverter that is rated 20a. It charges my 200ah battery in about 8hrs.

i am asking because i just need an affordable modified sine wave inverter to power 3 standing fans so that everybody in my house can sleep soundly at night and i heard fans on modified sine wave inverters make too much noise.

I love that inverter even though i have never used it. It seems well built as per quality and data sheet. I am particularly thrilled with the inbuilt AVR, power factor, wall mount ability, display etc.

The downside is that since a switch between UPS or Inverter mode isnt mention coupled with the fact that the data sheet only mentioned 150-280v operating range, i am scared. In my area, we do have low voltage supply on grid so it will be bad if the above is only applicable. Right now my inverter with inverter mode range of 90-280v is struggling to charge since saturday night when our supply voltage dropped below 90v.

Power factor is 9.5-1 avcording to the datat sheet so 0.9 can be assumed very save. It means you can power your inverter to 1.35kilowatts. I wouldnt go beyond 1000watts. Besides, i will lose hours of backup with more load. If ever you need to run fridge, start generator.

With 75A charger, thats very suitable for very fast charging of 2 batteries. 75A can even do 3 batteries well.

For my standing fan, the noise difference is not significant as i can barely hear it when its on inverter but the ceiling fans is more significant. It wont stop most people from sleeping soundly though.

I would like to throw this issue up for discussion. I installed a number of 1.5kva 24v inverters(safepower, luminous, genius , sukham etc). After 10 months thereabout, the clients notified me of reduced number of hours of backup. Preliminary checkes revealed a failing battery and in most cases, the most negative battery. The same happens with INDIAN 48v inverters too. Lets discuss the possible causes and solution. My integrity has been badly affected as a result because I promised most of them 2yrs of useful battery life. The most annoying part is most clients are my senior colleagues at work...u all know what it means.

Point of correction. I have only 1 12v 200ah battery with 1.2kva 20a modified sinewave inverter. The battery wasn't even bought new.

I get well over 12hrs of back up when i manage the power consumption well.

My family knows the connection well and everyone goes into power saving mode once mains is off. All power sockets in the house is directly mains so we know when the lights on the sockets of inverter or fridge goes off. The drill i taught them is to turn off all lights and fan not being used immediately mains go off.

I think they were refering to me but i use one battery.

Infact the battery i use was given to me by a friend who bought 2 of them but later purchased a 900va 12v inverter with 20a charger. We realised he couldnt charge both batteries well with 20a so he disconnected one and let me have it.

Its either he gets a 40a charger or manage one.

When next am buying an inverter, now i know that its charger is as important as the battery bank.

I have realised too that it is better to have a 48v system running on 4 12v batteries than a 24v on the same battery bank even if the charging capacity is same.
