It is idiotic to encourage primitive subsistence farming in this day and age. The way forward is to provide funding and subsidies for large scale mechanized farming in order to make food cheap and accessible to the populace. A well fed population leads to productivity. 1 Like |

It's a nice initiative no doubt.. but will it solve anything? We expect govt. to focus on agriculture and advice youths to go into mechanized farming and new means of crop production. The reason I was sad when the govt. of the day turned blind eye to foreign herdsmen and bandits killing farmers and preventing people from going to their farms. You can't talk of food security in the midst of insecurity. Tackle our security issues first else a time will come when goods and agricultural products won't be able to move from North to South and vice versa |

Ola17: On point.. they should invest in mechanized farming and solve the security issue plaguing the country. As the population is increasing, the demand for shelter, jobs, infrastructure etc. too will increase. So the best method now is mechanized farming for optimal food production. I have my reservations about genetically modified organisms and seeds (GMOs), so I won't push for that. 1 Like |
