This government said they removed fuel subsidy SOME TIME AGO that was why they increased price up to the present #165.00 pump price.

Why are they still talking about subsidy again? When will this dubious subsidy end?

This people want to continue to loot our resources and destroy the lives of Nigerians, God is watching all of you.

Somebody will open mouth on television and be talking about paying transport subsidy when the money she claims to be distributing to the poor ( abacha loot) has only reached the hands of few of their relatives.

Use your dubious transport subsidy to keep the fuel pump price at its present price.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, NIGERIANS DESERVE TO LIVE AND NOT PERISH LIKE INFESTED FOWLS

Why not build refineries and start processing fuel locally? Why must we be importing fuel in 2022.? Shameful. angry

By then Dangote Refinery will be on stream....Win-Win for Dangote and the uncertainties and it's attendant economic blow back keeps piling up for Nigerians.
Dangote had been projected to sell at least #500 per PMS litre.
God no go shame us.

The alternative is government paying a subsidy of at least 370 naira per liter to keep fuel at 162 per liter...and as production costs goes up , so does the subsidy budget.

At the end we take loans or do partial removal of subsidy which means price increases or total removal

Plus there are at least 20 active refinery licences. And at least 4 other refineries under construction. Dangote isn't the only one in the business

We all need to understand that, when the government said Nigerians, they're referring to the Elite not the common man.
Government doesn't care about the common man, they don't regards the common man as Nigerians....

The same people that said fuel subsidy was scam under GEJ have realised it was not. Sadly, pride will not allow them to apologize for deception.

Meanwhile, this is the 2022 looting strategy

Not to defend Buhari...as he was clearly playing politics back then, and he knew that subsidy was harmful (at least he was attending economic council meetings, and should have known)

But here is how the scam in subsides works

1.Smuggling of fuel. In Nigeria, fuel costs N162 per liter. In our neighbours...it costs above N300. Smuggliers take advantage of the price differential to smuggle fuel across the borders

2.Want to make extra money...make false claims on fuel imported, fuel sold, and transport costs (part of the subsidy money goes to making the transport of fuel cheap)...and earn extra.

3.Also, until 2016, everyone was allowed to import fuel...meaning people made false claims for forex and suchlike to import fuel.

Hence the scam.

Strange. Out of over 200 million Nigerians, what percentage of our population will get the allowance. Sometimes I wonder how these people reason. They will create a greater problem by trying to solve one problem.

Who told you they are trying to solve this problem or any other problem in this country for that matter.

That's another way of legally and officially stealing our common wealth.

So what's d point, u remove fuel subsidy to pay d citizens transport allowance. since money will still b spent, just leave d subsidy there bcus I dont see any point there. U pay fuel subsidy= govt spend money. You pay transport allowance=govt spend money. No sense inside. one person will just chop d whole money. Just looking for an avenue for a northerner to chop money and clean mouth. D one dat happened during corona, nobody has been convicted, all the money that were donated just miss. Mumu govt
If you hadn't been in a haste to just criticise and you read everything written up there calmly, you'd have seen where it was stated that the payment of transport allowance would last for only 6 - 12 months..

Even if paradventure they keep paying the transport allowances till thy kingdom come, it the money budgeted for the transport allowances wouldn't be up to 10% of the money the government spends on fuel subsidy yearly.

If fuel subsidy was removed since jonathan, Nigerians would have gotten use to it by now, but instead the subsidy cost kept on increasing.

Weren't you among the people that matched together with the failed president buhari in Lagos?

The will only pay the transport allowances for 6-12 months. And there's no way the transport allowances will even be up to 10% of fuel subsidy paid in a year.

How the hell did Zainab Ahmed, become minister of finance, planning and budget. How do you measure paying direct cash to individual?

Why not invest in better transport systems and subsidies the cost, for example, buy local buses from Innosson supply them to state and private transport company, subsidies the cost of petrol. This will increase the country industrial capacity and improve transport systems at a relatively low cost to the consumers.
The payment of transport allowance is just for 6-12 months.
