No fewer than 426 Federal Civil Servants may lose their jobs or be forced into early retirement following their failure to report at their new places of duty.

Our correspondent, however, learnt that the concerned civil servants from ministries, departments and agencies had a grace period which would elapse on Wednesday, November 17.

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, in a circular issued on her behalf on September 21, 2021, by the Director, Employee Mobility of the Office of the Head of Service, O.T. Olusola-Dada, redeployed some civil servants under the grade level five to nine to some MDAs.

On September 29, the HOCSF had also through the Permanent Secretary of the Career Management Office, Marcus Ogunbiyi, in a memo marked, ‘HCSF/CMO/ EM/ AOD/001/S.2/103,’ and addressed to all permanent secretaries and directors, asked them submit lists of workers who failed to comply.

Our correspondent gathered that 426 officers refused to comply.

Following this, the HOCSF in a new circular also signed by titled, ‘Non-compliance of civil servants to posting instruction,’ noted that some civil servants failed to comply with the posting instruction and would be sanctioned.

It partly reads, “Recall that the office of the head of the civil service of the Federation, via the circular no, HCSF/CMO/EM/AOD/001/S.2/103, dated 21st September, 2021, redeployed pool officers from GL 05 to 09 to various MDAs.

“Returns on the level of compliance indicated that substantial number of the officers has not reported in their respective new posts. Available statistics indicate that the majority of such officers may be working from home in compliance with earlier circular on the preventive measures against COVID-19.

“Notwithstanding, such officers are expected to document in their new MDAs while they continue working at home or as may be directed by their permanent secretaries.

“Accordingly, all officers in this category or any others who have not reported are given up to Wednesday, 17th November, 2021 to report and document in their MDAs. Failure to do so is tantamount to violation of extant rules which shall be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of PSR 030301(b).

“PSR 030301(b) states that refusal to proceed on transfer or to accept posting is a misconduct which is inimical to the image of the service and which can be investigated and proved. It can also lead to termination and retirement.”

But another issue is some head use that to intimidate and punish unjustly... U see a staff been posted yearly to different locations while another remains at his comfort zone for decades

I have exited this page as well as Nairaland but I had to come back and read your post again.

You made it sound like he doesn't know what is talking about, but he is right.

If people can pay to get into the civil service, there is a 105% guarantee that people pay for postings.

About whom it is giving to, remember that the posting list was not compiled by the HOS, Minister or PS, someone lower in every MDA would have to start the compilation under the instructions of his higher up, but as usual, they fraud it out.

It's a directive from head of service implemented by human resources. Bribe won't work. Civil service is not your mummy and daddy company, your money is useless. Besides how much does a level 9 officer have to even bribe anybody Lol.

He said your money is useless in the civil service , let me assume you are only trying to cover up the rot within it or clowning, but if you are dead serious, then I make bold to say you know nothing and you don't know you are clueless.
