Signing to which climate change? Country that refuses to diversify from oil? No wahala, when there are no more customers for oil, and our government becomes as poor as Niger or Chad, then they will know. At least some regions are industrious. |

Climate change bill in Nigeria At this time?? Baba is completely lost... Like I am just petrified at this Baba... 0 emissions plan ke... with the electricity problem alone that is not possible, 1- assuming we consider electric mobility/vehicles, which Grid will sustain the electricity supply?? 2- Generator usage alone contributes to a huuuge chunk of carbon emissions in Nigeria, because there are more people who own generators compared to cars- take rural areas for example. 3- Regulating Generator usage (assuming emissions control is really taken into consideration) will take a direct hit on the economy, as there is literally a known electricity challenge. 4- The supply price of Electricity will probably be touching the sky, when a drastic shift like that occurs. 5- Most people cook with Coal, firewood etc due to insane prices associated with energy supply in Nigeria...thats a huge carbon emissions problem there Insecurity 6- Electricity charging infrastructure will be vandalised by Touts 7- Transportation will become very expensive especially if the press to phase out regular combustion engines increase, at the moment Nigeria is highly dependent on Road transport, alternative methods of transportation are very scarce especially in densely populated areas. This may further increase the deviants in society. This list literally continues |

Signing the climate change bill is tantamount to stupidity! u sign a law that will stop ur industrial growth the west are just looking for way to retard the growth of other countries so they can be answerable to them. Even France still uses coal and nuclear means to generate power, same as China even India has postponed her own target on climate change. Some part of America still uses coal. Now they preach use of clean energy which is not even effective imagine saying we should use solar can it be used on an industrial basis walahi we have fools in power |

atiku07:People like you never know anything, when it is law it is now a bargaining chip, we have signed the law, to go renewable G7 you must give us the money for it, or cancel our debts? When last did Nigeria spend a kobo on any coal investment? We going to get paid for getting rid of a fossil fuel that we barely use. With the PIB Act, gas flaring Can now be addressed. |

Make we no dey follow all these leftist western governments on this climate change thing. They used cheap hydrocarbon and coal to power their economies in the 17th century through the 19th century and want developing country to drop fossile fuel and move to more expensive renewables. They should bear the cost and support developing countries with funds. 1 Like |
