is it the primary responsibility of the Nigerian police force to track phone calls for individuals and communities

Guy it's among their responsibilities. They make use of equipment to catch criminals. Tracking a stolen phone will enable them catch a criminal who stole the phone.
I'm sure you know this but I'm confused why you're arguing about this

For those of you who don't know about tracking, kindly read this; tracking of a number is not free , initially wen police platform was still working tracking was free but now even police do use a private tracker dat charges a single phone number 50k for analysis... Dat's why it's difficult now to track a stolen phone

NPF is a case on its own.. so terrible an organization .. nothing reliable and credible about them
- They will ask you to pay for paper and biro to write your report if you take any matter to their station .. is that a credible Organization ?

Any Police officer tracking phones have to pay the ICT personnel that will provide information on the location of the criminals and you don't expect the police officer to fund the tracking with his small salary. Their only work is to use the information given to them about the location, movement, the phone number of both the criminal and phone numbers of the people that usually interact with him on phone and heat map of their target to locate the person. They once helped in tracking my friends lost phone and were impressed by their performance. It is the government that has failed to equip the Nigerian Police properly. So community instead of providing the N60, 000 will prefer to pay N30, 000,000.00 to the bandits?

Sir, is it a random ICT person or an ICT police personel? What I know is that the police are the only one allowed to track a phone number because of privacy. A random person is not equipped to do this and if otherwise, it is illegal. What the ministry of communications is pushing is a good one(nin), but I see fraud in its quest to achieve it. Its well

So what's the need of linking or NIN or BVN to our SIM card if these miscreants cannot be traced?

Have u heard of SECURITY VOTE?
How do u think this money is being spent?
U think govrs embazzle it entirely without using part of it to do anything?

If a govrs security vote is 2billion, 60percent of such funds will be spent on security, the entire security units in the state gets its own share of what is being shared. From. Police, navy, army, airforce, civil defence, and every other corps doing business in the state.
So saying whether police should use his salary to pay for tracking of private lines is rubbish talk.
Trying to defend people who r extorting the public for services they have been paid to render not just to the citizens but also for their own good.

The police are not helping matters. I bought an android phone for 30k & it was stolen. I went to the police headquarters to track and arrest the thief. I was asked to pay 30k for the tracking & that is how I abandoned the idea.
That is why people hate police.

Lol this is what happens when u you centralize power at the top. If individuals were allowed to defend themselves properly most of you would realize how useless they are. This is why Decentralized policing is important. Put these lazy idiots out of job. They don't have to exist.

The Nigerian Police Force is a criminal organisation , a gang of robbers fraudsters,
thieves murderers and ritualistic bastards. and the Nigerian President is terrorist fulani jihadist . It can't get any worse than this.

The Nigerian police I know is not a criminal organization. Neither is a gang of robbers. They might have a little bit of fraudulent tendencies sha. The president of country is not a terrorist. But he is Fulani. Nigeria has seen better days but it can get worse than this

A president of a country can subtly support terrorism if you don't know...and what will you call such president... Last year president Trump ordered the killing of top Iranian general. Why because his activities have been under watch...
Who told you that Nigeria police are not murderers... Go and read about Apo 9(Abuja) ..what about the one that took place a Onitsha. If you don't know something close your mouth
