Chukwuemeka Ezeugu, who's known by his stage name as Reverend King, is a preacher from Achina in Anambra state and also the general oversea of his ministry, the Christian Praying Assembly, with its headquarters in Ajao estate, Lagos state, until 2016. He had his primary and secondary education in Onitsha and later had his tertiary education at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, where he studied psychology.

However, Chukwuemeka Ezeugu rose to public recognition after he was charged with setting a member of his church, Ann Uzo, on fire at his residence. He was later found guilty by Justice Joseph Oyewole of the Lagos High Court on January 11th, 2007, and later sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for attempted murder plus death by hanging for the actual murder, even though he pleaded not guilty.
