Warning Signs of Drug Abuse in Young People.

In today’s world, illegal drugs are widely available and consequently pose a burning social problem.

There’s probably not a parent who wouldn’t quietly worry about his child getting too close to them.

It’s okay to know what illegal drugs look like, what are the gadgets in a child’s room that indicate potential abuse, and what behavior the child should be concerned about.

In order for parents to sleep more peacefully, I put up this article and many others which deals with the issue of addiction and child drug use.

The most prevalent illegal drug is Marijuana, most easily recognized by parents as green dried tops that leave a greasy feeling between the fingers.

The substance has a specific, pungent odor reminiscent of pine trees and is difficult for a person to overlook, even if they do not recognize it.

Marijuana can be consumed in the form of cigarette smoking, but it can also be consumed in the form of biscuits and a milk drink.

We also know hashish, a resinous discharge from cannabis leaves that is brown in color, more or less hard and reminiscent of plasticine or soft plastic.

In case the parents find a bag of dried tops in the teenager’s room, there is a very small chance that it is something other than marijuana or, according to the locals, ‘grass’.

Now, the first warning to parents should be the appearance of smoking papers or rizel in the child's room, as their presence indicates that the child is smoking something.

Marijuana is indicated mainly by large grapes, which are used only for smoking marijuana, while small ones are used mainly for smoking tobacco (although parents are usually not enthusiastic about the latter).

Symptoms
A teenager under the influence of marijuana is not difficult to identify. The biggest indicators are, of course, red eyes, increased appetite and cravings for sweets, outbursts of laughter, confusion, skipping thoughts, as well as deep philosophical outbursts. The intoxication effect lasts for about 4 hours.

Not only marijuana abuse, but also the abuse of all other illicit substances is subject to a general indicator, namely the avoidance of eye contact.

Most people who hide something have the feeling that the secret is written on their forehead, so they have a subconscious feeling of discomfort.

The next most prevalent illegal substance is Heroin

It appears on the market in the form of a brownish powder that can be ingested intravenously, but can also be smoked or sniffed.

The well-known burnt spoons, injections and aluminum foil (aluminum foil is used for smoking, namely heroin is placed on it and a flame is lit under it) are an indisputable sign that this is an intravenous drug, most likely heroin.

Because this is highly addictive, I recommend that parents talk to their child as soon as possible and take action.

Symptoms
Heroin in humans causes detachment from the environment, acts as an analgesic and sedative, triggers drowsiness, and causes pupil shrinkage. With prolonged use, withdrawal syndrome, irritability and tremor occur.

If heroin is ingested intravenously, there are also traces of needle punctures on the body, these punctures can also be on the heels and between the toes.

In addition to physical signs, parents should also pay attention to the financial aspect, because someone who uses drugs for a long time, sooner or later needs more money for it than he usually has.

Cocaine, another prevalent illegal drug.

In the case of cocaine, I'm talking about white powder, which is surprisingly widespread among young people, given its high price (a gram of cocaine on the market can reach 120 USD, author's note).

It can be ingested through the nasal mucosa by sniffing, intravenously and by smoking, which is why indicators of consumption can be white powder residues on the table, injections, burnt spoons, aluminum foil, etc.

Symptoms.
Cocaine use speeds up the heart rate, a sense of omnipotence and self-confidence; significantly increases human energy and hospitality.

A teenager is unlikely to return home under the influence, as cocaine has a fairly short-acting effect (20-30 minutes).

The most important harbinger of cocaine use is the financial aspect due to its high market price. In addition, regular use of cocaine is also indicated by feelings of irritability and depression.

Please, be responsible for your child's welfare. Have conversations with them as often as possible. Talk them out of every mood that could engender drug use and addiction.

Together we can lead a drug free generation.
