A man has been discharged and acquitted after spending 3 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit, Newspremises reports.

The man was remanded by a magistrate on a count of kidnap and other related offenses, despite the fact there was no complainant.

Activist Living Saint, who saw him crying in court 3 years ago, took up his case pro bono.

On Monday, Nov. 29, a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt confirmed he didn't commit the crime and declared him innocent.

Living Saint shared the news on Facebook alongside pictures of the man shortly after he was discharged and acquitted.

I'll keep on saying this, remember those in prison in your daily life and prayers. Guys and ladies are serving jail terms and punishments for offences they never witnessed let alone committing. Our justice system has failed but I believe there's a way it can be revived if only we're willing to take the chance. God bless the man and bless his too for believing his stroy and for his boldness. May heaven release men and voices to speak, stand up for us and defend us in time of troubles Amen.
