After much wait, Lionel Messi was announced the winner of FIFA world player of the year 2021, beating Lewandowski who finished on second place.There was a lot of heated debate as fans complained against fairness of Ballon Dor voting system. It seems like Messi was given an advantage because of the Solo performances in COPA AMERICA. The first international trophy was enough to persuade the officials to vote for messi.
