Will Liverpool’s Injury Crisis Force Jurgen Klopp To Sign In January? by KateRichaardson: 8:45am On Dec 07, 2021
Liverpool’s injury list continues to grow with goalkeeper Alisson Becker becoming the latest player to be sidelined with a foot injury.

Becker missed Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League with Caoimhin Kelleher being handed a start for the Reds, ahead of Adrian. The Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury during his side’s 1-1 draw with Brighton over the weekend and could not be involved on Tuesday night as a precaution. Alisson is expected to be out for at least two to three weeks. Find more information on this topic at https://www.mightytips.com/bookmakers/trustly-betting-sites/ .

Allison has now joined the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez in the list of injured players with the pair set to miss the remainder of the season. Van Dijk is on the sidelines for the rest of the season after undergoing a knee surgery, having picked up the injury against Everton.
The Dutchman was then joined by Joe Gomez who suffered a knee injury while on international duty with the national team England and no timescale has been put regarding his return.

Another player on the treatment table is Trent Alexander-Arnold who has a calf injury. Trent could be available when Liverpool face Wolverhampton over the weekend.
Winger Xherdan Shaqiri is also on the treatment table after picking up a muscle injury while on international duty. It is yet unknown when the winger will be available for selection.

Available players in January

Liverpool have a number of options to reinforce during the January transfer window. Dayot Upamecano is a player who has been in fine form for RB Leipzig this season. A number of Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation with the player having a release clause of around £40million.

Other players include; Ozan Kabak (Schalke 04), Ben White (Brighton), David Alaba (Bayern Munich), Conor Coady (Wolverhampton).

Klopp’s take on injuries

Jurgen Klopp seems not to be concerned over bringing in new dances in January after admitting he might not sign a senior defender.

“If we can do something in January I have no idea. If we want to do something in January I have no idea. We’ll just have to see," he said.

"That we look for solutions and the transfer market – that is clear – but in the moment we have the situation we have. I don’t want to compare situations but when I came to Dortmund in 2008 my two center-halves were 19 and turned 20 that winter and we played with them for that entire time. Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic."

"We have talent here. They are young – 18, 19, 23 – and we have more experienced players, so we will see. Everybody has a chance. They can smell the chance and they step up. They want to show they are ready and we will see.”

Liverpool’s performance

Liverpool might be missing a number of key players but Jurgen Klopp’s tactics have been rewarding the defending champions. With all those injuries, the Reds have managed to advance to the last 16 of the Champions League while are second in the Premier League standings.

Conclusion

Klopp has put faith on youngsters to deputise on the injured senior players with the likes of Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams doing wonders. Philips earned the man-of-the-match award when his side beat West Ham United 2-1 in November. More interesting news on betting Belgium link.

Liverpool don’t need new signings in January as it has been evident in recent matches, playing without much struggle. Once the injured players return, Klopp will feel as if he has signed new players.
