Hungary Government Scholarship is currently open for the 2022/2023 academic session. Hungary Government Scholarship is also called the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for international students who want to pursue their academic careers in universities in Hungary.

The scholarship was founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013 and is been supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation. The aim of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarships is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students.

The program is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements signed between the Ministries responsible for education in the sending countries/territories and Hungary or between institutions. Currently, more than 70 Sending Partners are engaged in the program on 5 different continents, and the geographical scope of the program is spreading each year.

The scholarship is available for undergraduate, master, one-tier master, Ph.D., and non-degree programs.

Duration of the Stipendium Scholarship:

Bachelor’s Scholarships: 2-4 Years
Master’s Scholarships: 1.5-2 Years
One-tier master: 5-6 Years
Doctoral Scholarships: 4 Years
Non-degree Programs: 1 Year

Hungary Government Scholarship Coverage:

1. Full Tuition Fee Covered for BS, MS, PhD
2. Monthly Stipend: 120 euros for Bsc, one-tier master and non-degree program, and 450 euros for Ph.D.
3. Full Accommodation will be provided.
4. Health Insurance.


Required Documents:

1. Online application form
2. Copy of Identification Document: Int. passport or national ID card
3. School Certificates: O'Level, bachelor degree certificate for master and master degree certificate for Ph.D. applicants.
4. Transcript of Records
5. Motivation Letter: - minimum 1 page, typed in Times New Roman 12 point letters

You can apply directly online or apply through the Nigerian ministry of education.
