A 7-year-old girl has been rescued by the Osun State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs after she was starved and neglected by her aunt.

The 7-year-old who with her aunt in Osogbo, the State's capital is said to fed once per week by her aunt before she abandoned her at the backyard of the house in an environment close to a refuse dump.

The rescue was executed by the officials of the ministry, in collaboration with the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police. HGS Media Plus gathered.

The girl was said to be in a bad shape and was looking skinny and weak with broken bones when she was found by the state Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs.

Meanwhile, the state government has claim responsibility for the child and has promised to shelter, educate, feed and take care of the girl’s health.
