Serious Domestic Violence by sassiemyk: 7:06am On Dec 11, 2021 |
Good morning N/Landers. I really came here for ideas on how to handle this issue so I'll get straight to it. I live in a house with 3 flats. The first flat supposed to be my landlord's but he is not living in the house so it is empty. I live in the middle flat and I have my neighbors in the third flat. When my previous neighbors were quitted out of the house my landlord asked me to get new tenants to move in. I allowed these new tenants into the house simply because they were already occupying one of the stores at the front of the building so I just felt moving into the house would help make things easy for them. But that has turned out to be my greatest mistake. Even when landlord asked me if I'm sure I said yes and he now blames me for everything. From the first day they moved in, they started fighting. I mean "FIGHT" that would have the entire street gathering at our once quiet house to separate fights. Many times the woman would faint and be resuscitated. On more than one occasion I have had to administer CPR so she could breath. And it's continued since then. 2years now they still fighting. As I type this they are fighting. Since the past 3 days they wake up to start a new fight. I have long stopped talking or even separating them, but is has become mentally draining. I am a very private person, and I love to live a quiet life but these have made my life miserable. I cannot pack out for them. My fear is if any of them should kill the other how would if affect me. I have reported them to the landlord several times but because he doesn't live with us he doesn't take action. On the aspect of taking care of the house, they live like pigs. Imagine this young man opening a poultry inside the compound. If I post the picture of this beautiful house here you would begin to question the sanity anyone trying to open a poultry in the house. The house is upside down and I just don't know what to do as the caretaker. It Hurts me to watch another man's property be destroyed by someone that cannot even afford one back of cement and I just have to mind my business to avoid making it look like I'm a wicked person. Please how do I handle this issue because my landlord has told me I should handle it. He never comes to house buts calls me often... |

According to you, they started their fights almost immediately they moved in, yet you allowed them to renew their rent after the first year. You seem to be enjoying the fight and only want to let us know you are a caretaker. A care taker who can't take proper care of a house, is that a caretaker? You clearly lack the requisite leadership qualities to handle the responsibilities you have been saddled with. The landlord himself isn't any serious or else, he'd know what to do to both you and the duelling couple. Check my siggy 1 Like 2 Shares |

Share all the problem and the sanity of the environment in pictures to the landlord and tell him to counsel them or serve them quit notice quickly. Because any bad thing can happen at any time |

daddytime: I swear down you spoke one part of my mind. But on a second thought, I also ask myself what people would say if things go wrong. People are quick to see reactions and not the actions that wrought them. Many people tells me to mind myself business since landlord is not serious about evicting them instead he's angry I brought dem in. I tire mehnnn |

Furcko:This is what I've been doing but it's becoming really difficult. Imagine waking up in the morning to loud wailings and shouts. Walking through a mammoth crowd street people as I make my escape out of the compound and some of them even accusing me of not trying to make peace for them without any idea of how long this has been going on. |

Your landlord is irresponsible to have asked you to handle it but he's also smart. Because you obliged to finding the new tenants for him and were the one who asked them to move in, he knows if they damage his property, he could put the blame on you. For your sanity, it's either you find a way to get them to move out, or you move out. 2 Likes |
