Some of the aluminum quotes I got today are as follows

MAIN BUILDING 0.45 N766,360.00
MAIN BUILDING 0.55 N890,900.00
GATE HOUSE  0.45  N148,800.00
GATE HOUSE  0.55  N177,000.00

TOTAL FOR 0.45 N915,160.00
TOTAL FOR 0.55 N1,067,900.00

I have to mention here that this quote is for ALO aluminum sheets and not the First aluminum sheets earlier quoted for. We should note the difference. Many roofers will prefer First to Alo any day, but people use both.

Is there really any difference between them?? After all most times we do pay a premium for a brand name.

What about other smaller Aluminium coys?! Wont their quotes be lower?

I suggest you get one more quote ……maybe those of us that want to build hostels could manage with them,

Well from what i see, it seems its gonna be a simple Hipped roof since we dont see any gable walls going up. i wish there were drawings to explin better to those who want to understand and estimate their own costs.

Yes I will get one more, that will be tomorrow. The difference between those two types of roof is just the finishing, many roofers believe First aluminum uses 'oven baked' sheets while Alo does'nt. But some dont mind sha, just like some wont mind using 0.45 instead of 0.55 guage. I will await my clients response on this.

I think it is better to use the 0.55 for the main building and  0.45 for the gate house.

this house is so big for a 4 bedroom

these carpenters are seeing hell with this wood. It is so hard it bends nails sometimes, they are complaining but I love hardwood.

Expense update. Due to my familiarity with this carpenter and our long working experience together, I know he cannot run away from me so I am paying him a part of his money. I paid him N60,000.00 as advance payment, from this money he pays his workers. This brings the total money spent on this roof to N255,900.00

Although I didn't build the structure, (I took up this roofing only after the house has been built) but I think there are enough form works to support this bungalow and prevent it from cracking, the lintels are largely chained and the German floor is also thick enough. This land is never in risk of being waterlogged so I don't think the house will crack. I will check the house again, thanks for the observation.

I assure you guys that more pictures will be pasted here this evening. We are roofing the gate house now and just brought in 300 pcs of purlings to start the rafter works, I have more carpenters on site now, just pulled one guy to join them this morning.
