Prof Wole Soyinka, a Nobel Laureate, has stated that religion is the most significant impediment to Nigerians’ liberation as “rational beings.”

During a recent conversation with Dr. Louisa Egbunike, an African Literature professor, the famous poet and playwright made the remark.

Prof Wole Soyinka He said;
“All over the place, I find that religion has been cosseted too much. And liberty has been taken by religionists, which would not be considered to other movements which are considered secularists.
