Bandits have killed a health worker, Aminu Sani Garba and a factory manager, Kasimu Lawan, after collecting N8 million ransom for their release, IgbereTV reports.

The duo were among four residents kidnapped by bandits at a water factory in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State on November 14.

Until his death, Garba, a resident of Tegina, was the Local Immunization Officer (LIO) in Rafi LGA.

IgbereTV gathered that the bandits have also asked for additional N20 million ransom, smartphones and motorcycles to release the corpses and the remaining victim in their captivity.

On Tuesday, an official of a road transport union in the town, Bello Muhammad, told PREMIUM TIMES that the community contributed N8 million ransom to secure the release of the abducted persons.

However, after making the payment, the people were told that two of the victims had been killed by the bandits.

Mr Muhammad said another victim, Mas’udu Ibrahim, escaped from captivity, while Bako BK, the owner of the water factory is still being held by the bandits.

He said the ransom bearer returned with a gory picture of the deceased victims, which made the residents observe funeral prayers (Salatul Ghaib) for the deceased.

Muhammad confirmed that the bandits also requested a fresh N20 million, three new motorcycles and two smartphones, equivalent in value to the one seen with the deceased health worker, as a ransom for the release of the corpses and the remaining captive.

Speaking to Premium Times, the ransom bearer, Kasimu Barangada, narrated how he delivered the ransom last Tuesday in a forest in the state.

He said the kidnappers blindfolded him while taking him into the bush. He said the corpse of the deceased health worker was on the ground while the other captive, Mr BK, could not utter a word.

"Innalillahi Wa'ina Ilaihir Rajiun!

With heavy heart, but with total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah (SWT), painfully announced the dead of My Boss at work and the Traditional Tittle Holder of DOKAJIN TEGINA DISTRICT, Kagara Emirate Council in person of Mal. Aminu Sani Garba, RCHP

Garba, popularly referred to as; CANCY, was killed after been held captive by his abductors for over 24 days. It could be recalled that Mr. Garba, alongside three others were kidnapped on 14th November, 2021 at Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area, Niger State.

Until his dead, Mal. Aminu, was the Local Immunization Officer (LIO), Rafi Local Government Area, Kagara. A hard-working, dedicated and humble employee of Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Minna. LIO's services to humanity will be greatly missed by many who have the opportunity of benefitting from them.

We pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive him where he has gone wrong when he was still alive right from the time he was begotten, place him in the highest rank in Aljanatil Firdauosi, grant his immediate family, ourselves, colleagues at work, friend and associate the fortitude to bear the lost of this precious soul. Ameen!

I was listening to TV analysis when one expert said for every kidnaped victim the bandits oga are aware.

So killing victims after collecting ransom is a way to tell their ogas that ransom wasn't paid when it was actually looted by them

Sense won't kill northern business men grin

Insecurity is growing, our leaders are watching
Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder that can explode if things are not put right within the shortest time.

They know what to do just lack of political will.
