British Airways has tapped into that childlike excitement with their new “#LookUp” campaign.

Digital billboards at London's Piccadilly Circus and Chiswick appear to depict a boy getting up and pointing to a real jet flying overhead as part of the promotion. The billboard is programmed to recognize when a British Airways plane passes by, and it then displays the flight number, destination, and, finally, the lowest fares currently available to that location.

The campaign was created by Ogilvy Group UK, and it tracks the aircraft using "surveillance technology."

This is a first, not only for British Airways, but also for UK advertising. We've all wondered where the planes are going and fantasized about a fantastic vacation or a warm getaway during chats with friends and family.

This ad's innovative technology allows it to engage consumers right away and answer their question."
