Wow
The textbooks are really expensive tho. Surprisingly, some of my coursemates have gone far in anatomy and physiology, though we're still in 100L.
thats the normal norm in medical school

When others a battling with physic biology and co or experienced ones who have been properly oriented are already jacking anatomy ,biochemistry and co

When u resume 200l dnt be surprised when u see these peeps reciting keith moore as if its queens primer lol

Just rounded up my 100L. Pretty basic stuffs. Compared to what’s ahead it’s child’s play lol

Had distinctions in all my results so far, apart from English, but again it’s all useless in this coming preclinical stuffs

We all start with clean slates, everyone is equal. No matter how good or bad your 100L results are. In this school, it hardly matters.
That doesn’t mean you should let up your 100L performance tho. It helps to build confidence. You’ll need it.

The journey begins
congrats bro
Your preclinical years are blessed already .

Jst keep working hard ,trust me it gets better as you move higher

But since we payed money for acceptance fee and did our online clearance.

We have not received any message from Ui again.

They have not even given us Matric. No nor assigned us to halls.

I know. I don't know how they intend to do it for freshmen but there's news flying around that taking the covid vaccine is prerequisite to getting accommodation, so I don't really know.
But keep your fingers crossed, school fees and accommodation fee payment is at hand

I am under age "17" I don't think I will be required to collect the vaccine.

But if at all at all I would collect it.

Hopefully in January they send message to us regarding paying the school and accommodation fees.

Guyton is a very good textbook but it's too bulky and you might not cover as you may want to. Check out Essentials of Physiology and Ezeilo physiology.

Keith Moore is also good but check out Vishram, it is more organized.

For Biochemistry, hold your slides and lecture note tight.

Above all it's all by God's grace.

KM is a very nice textbook, i know it may look intimidating at first because of its size but in terms of presentation of data, KM has a way of presenting gross in a very easily digestible form, other very good textbooks are out there, personally i also really like grey for students, but keith moore has everything u need for gross

ASUU has struck again
Tbh, I'm not sure If I should use this period to gain more knowledge and skills pertaining my tech vocation or I should use it solely for studying.

I'm still reading, buh I feel I'm wasting my time.
It is well.
Re: My Preclinical/MBBS Journey by buddingnurse: 7:17am On May 03, 2022
please for like how many months did you prepare for jamb?
and how long do you consider optimum for someone to prepare for the jamb utme exam?
GuiltyGear:

Of course, no problem
The texts I used for each subject
1. English
I used the invisible teacher. It’s the best jamb English text out there and sitting with this book will make use of English very easy for you, both jamb and putme.
I read it 4 times, front to back. So it needs your time
2. Physics
I used All Inclusive Calculations in Physics, New School Physics, lamlads physics and lots and lots of PQ. For physics, chem and bio, PQs should be your bread and butter. Solve PQs everyday after studying.
I read all texts at least 4-5 times, front to back
3. Biology
I was using essential biology, but I had to change it to Modern Biology plus lamlads bio. The latter is your best bet, but if you combine both like I did, you’re good to go!
Went over both like 3-4 times. Repetition is very powerful whilst studying
4. Chemistry
This was the subject I had my highest score in (88). The secret to it is to Combine lamlads chemistry (for calculations) and Ababio (for the theoretical aspect). Lamlads will teach you how to calculate very well, but it’s lacking in terms of explanation. Ababio is the other way around. ThTs the golden combo that worked for me
Don’t forget your PQs too
