Imagine! Even Nasarawa follow come! This law or ban will only be effective on the pages of paper. The government only come out with law without any relief for the people. For example, what's the average income of the residents? 2. How many people can afford alternatives such as kerosene and gas? 103 Likes 6 Shares |

This is very ridiculous coming at a point when people are looking for alternate means for cooking due to increase in gas prices... Nasarrawa ranks top when it comes to average gas prices per KG in the North Central... See NBS stat as at June in picture attached below and we all know what the market is saying presently. Public policies have to be redefined in this country. If tree falling or burning for charcoals still happen in the state despite different laws and measures put in place earlier, then it has to do with implementation of those laws. You can't just be churning out laws expecting that the laws will implement itself. There are more better ways to achieve the so called environmental protection that the state is pursuing. 9 Likes 1 Share

If you don't want the use of charcoal, simply make alternatives to it easily available and cheap, naturally the mases will leave charcoal for it. The people using charcoal do not use it because the love to, but because they cannnot afford the alternatives. These people don't have the welfare of the populace at heart. I pity those fighting themselves to support them. 32 Likes |

Sense is far from Nigerian politicians. Gas price is high, same with Kerosine, you ain't doing jack about it, instead you're banning charcoal to prevent fall of trees! Despite being neighbours with the fct, Nasarawa looks more of a village, they need to cut trees to build modern infrastructures. 23 Likes 1 Share |

So charcoal is a contraband in Nassarawa State.. People use charcoal as fuel because they can't afford Gas, kerosene etc.. this is what happens in a country that fails to grow. 2 Likes |

They should give the sellers a time frame to sell off the ones they have available so they don't run at a loss. 4 Likes 3 Shares |
