It is sad and out of place. Nigerians are harassed all over the world because of the institutional decay we have witnessed in our country. I once passed through Lomé airport on board Asky and to my surprise, over 60% of the passengers on that flight were going to the United States via the Ethiopia airline. And I was so curious, given the size of our population and influx of travelers, what is stopping the airline from offering a direct flight from Nigeria since Nigerians are their main customers? The flight from Lagos to Lomé takes approximately 35 minutes. It is unfortunate that the government has not been able to convert the opportunities and leased value chains in the aviation sector to provide jobs for its citizens. I am very sure that most Airlines in Togo will struggle to survive without Nigerian travelers The government must do all within the ambit of the law to protect her citizens whom they have compelled to migrate as a result of poor leadership. 2 Likes |

This is not enough, Asky Airlines should be banned immediately from Nigerian airspace. Ethiopian Airlines has to explain in writing. The Togolese ambassador in Nigeria should be surmoned by an administrative staff in the foreign affairs ministry. |

This write up concludes as though the matter has been solved,it has not. The Minisyer has not done enough please,he only either (a) took the responsibilities of the airline or (b) made them take responsibility for lifting the passangers back to Nigeria. But the real crux of the matter.Manhandling the Nigerians especially woemn like that. Honourable Minister of the FRN we await your response That said ill be extremely dissapointed in the passengers if they do not sue the airline.Sue everyone involved. |

Togolese hate Nigerian with passion....I I still don't get why... My experience goes thus... I started my annual leave of 30days back then in 2016 around April and decided to have some time in Ghana with my Mrs. We decided to go by road to really transverse some other country. So we took off with one of these executive couch early on a Monday morning.we left iyana ipaja at 6:30am .we had a smooth journey until we got inside Togo township....our vehicle was flagged and the driver was asked to wind down and answer some questions....the security agent only asked where we were coming from,at the mention of NIGERIA,the operatives asked for our passports,collected same and enterted their vehicle and zoomed off..we have to pursue after them and we followed them all the way back to their office of a journey of like oshodi to sagamu...on getting to their office, we asked what our offence was,they started speaking in french....it was an air force officer in our bus who happens to understand french who bailed us out after like 3hrs of undue delay..we eventually arrived Ghana at like 2am....it was an eventful journey anyways |

As I see it .... the problem is not with Togo .... but with Ethiopian and Asky Airline. When dropped in Togo by Ethiopian .... was it that the passengers were supposed to be on that particular Asky flight?... or is it if seats are available only? ... if not they will be on the next flight? Seems like everybody was trying to be on that flight. If the airport security said flight full no more passengers then there was no need for disturbance ... and since there was disturbance there would be arrests.
