What she would have done was to have cautioned the proposer reminding him of her duty. There are so many things you don't do while in uniform that you see as a non issue. Like you don't drink, you need to behave yourself etc. Yes, so many officers are guilty of these actions but that does not mean it is right. Nobody is saying she cannot be proposed to in uniform while off duty/assignment.

The comparison you gave is not of the same magnitude. It shud be what will happen if a student proposed to his lecturer? There is always a free period in a camp.They are adults, they have the right,as much as they did not do it during parade hour or that useless saed time.
