Another western propaganda.

They dont want any competition in Africa

But africa needs development and China is willing to assist without any strict preconceptions like legalizing gay marriage and following Breton woods economic policies that will ensure we remain tied to western imperialism.

When western countries give loan to africa .....they deceptively call it development assistance but when China give loan to Africa they call it debt trap.

The fear of China is real in the west and understandably so.....no one want to lose position of power and influence.... but its only a matter of time before China becomes the world power

Like Nigeria railway modernisation ambition will cost $40bn at the most which needs to paid back in 20-30 years.

Our economy is worth $450bn or over $9 trillion in 20 years.
How will a loan of $40bn enslave an economy that can generate $9 trillion over the life of the loans?

It's just conspiracy theory on overdrive

This is the most bizarre propaganda I have ever come across on Nairaland .

China has provided an immense opportunity for African nations to industrialize on the cheap. Rather than tap into this technology transfer, you are spreading to defame another nation and her nationals.

Honestly we lack a lot in technology. And the west would not provide these knowledge on the cheap. Look around you, many things are possible due to cheap Chinese technology... from pure water machines to cheap “indomie” processing plant. With less than $2000 you can setup a mini production(tin tomato) courtesy of Chinese technology. Why not tap into this?

Why demean a nation that means well? They have provided you loans if well managed can help transform this country. They have their heavy industries willing to come here and help setup backbone infrastructure that we will need to advance as a nation. The Europeans and the American won’t do that for you on the cheap without strings attached.

Have you been to China? I think a visit to Shanghai or Beijing will definitely change your view on things.

It's the forte of some lazy African minds who are always looking for a messiah and destiny helper. As you said all we should look out for is rapidly learn from the Chinese how to copy a replicate their technology and deploy it for our benefit instead of spinning conspiracy.

We need to realise nobody owes us a living and everyone is after their own best interest. If don't step up to the bill the rest of the world will take advantage. There's no big brother anywhere

It’s not China or western countries that are bad, it’s our leaders (and the people). They are evil. They collect stupid amounts of loans, even if they can’t repay them, and construct useless public structures, which are made by the people they borrow from, so the money the Chinese loan out is going back to them with interest included. But we shouldn’t blame our leaders, our leaders come from the people. The people who keep putting those in power. I don’t think africa can escape tribal politics or all these potential destroying things, so I don’t even identify as African. I’ve moved away from that terrible place.

Lol. You really needed to ask this? Obviously it’s mad GMO vegetables being shoved into containers and shipped down here. There’s a price for every shortcut. grin
