As poor as these mumu police officers are they will victimize fellow poor Nigerians in service of the rich political elite. They will be bodyguards to the children of millionaires and billionaires but their own daughters are somewhere getting stretched in exchange for cash and their sons become gun toting miscreants. They will brutalized suffering civilians because the gun they carry gives them a transient feel of power but they will go back home to face the same realities that the average poor person feels. This is why sometimes I don't share their pain. They deserve their pain.

The problem of this country is not the government but the greedy poor people in the country.

They gave you 20 percent pay rise and you're not happy

Useless fools. You want them to double your salary abi.. where is that done.

These fools don't know that success happens step by step
There is a lot of ignorance in your post. Considering inflationary trends in the past one year, that 20% is hardly a pay rise and thats why some are asking that health care, education, transportation and several other bills first be addressed else even a 100% rise will not make any impact

This is what is called salary marginalization.
Almost all the civil servants in this country are suffering and smiling.
There is no different between railway staff salary and the police salary.

No wonder if you're traveling across the north you won't see police officers collecting money in check points but when you're crossing over to the east you'd see alot of them collecting money.

Not in support of their killings though but they should stop the extortion of the innocent people.

If your salary no do you, resign find another work.
This is what we've been saying since but some will say Igbos have victim mentality.

If they are not happy with 20% pay rise, what happens to the one they have been living with before now Were they expecting 200% pay rise?

It now look like a curse to Nigerian policemen, to even double their salary will never deplete the trait of extorting motorist with other anomalies they display.

But I wouldn't want to fault them, they exhibit exactly what they meet in the policing system, should any of their critics sign up into NPF today, you will also join in during all of that in a long run.

The whole system is bad, complete overhauling will do us good.

Even if government increase constable salary to 600k per month, that won't stop them from collecting bribe. An average Nigerian will collect bribe if they have the opportunity. What will happen to those in federal fire service, civil defence and other MDA not in a position to collect bribe
