Chief Alwell Onyesoh from Etche Local Government Area is a two times former commissioner of Education and Sports during the Dr. Peter Odili’s administration from 1999 to 2007. He also served as the director of Universal Basic Education during former Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

Chief Alwell has been endorsed by his people to present himself as candidate for his Senatorial district’s seat come 2023 in the National Assembly.
