2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS; GROUP FLAGOFF SUPPORT FOR TINUBU/AFUNKOYO 2023 CAMPAIGN TRAIN

As Politicians and key stakeholders jostle for the Presidential and Vice Presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) ahead of the forthcoming 2023 Presidential Election, a socio-political group called the APC Supporters Forum have commenced campaign for the aspiration of HE Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for President 2023 alongside Chief Ezekiel Afunkoyo whom many have described as most suitable to handle the office of the Vice President of Nigeria, especially with emphasis on his security expertise and influence across the Northeast, which was pragmatically relevant in the victory of APC during the 2015 and 2019 Presidential elections.

The APC Supporters Forum notified Nigerians of their preparedness to flagged-off the massive support for the Tinubu/Afunkoyo 2023 Campaign Train during a press conference in Lagos State. The Chairman of the forum, Comrade Olugbenga Fatai stated that the support for Tinubu and Afunkoyo ahead of the 2023 Presidential elections was premised on their antecedents, zonal qualifications, credibilities, political might, commitments to visionary leadership and age-long development contributions towards the advancement of Nigeria and the party.

The forum maintained that Chief Bola Tinubu has remained committed to several nationwide development both for women, children and youths, with a track record of significant impacts in the structure of Nigeria's governance and leadership, while considering his personal contributions towards infrastructural growth and human capita development across Nigeria.

He further noted that the choice of Mr. Ezekiel Afunkoyo as the most suitable running mate and next Vice President of Nigeria cannot be underemphasized, stressing that his age-long capacity in grassroot mobilization, experience in the public sector and hardwork in APC have remained the bedrock of his outstanding excellence in governance and leadership. Mr. Ezekiel Afunkoyo hails from Wukari LGA and of the Jukun tribe in Taraba State, which cuts across the Northeast, Northwest and North Central. The Jukun people have produced several noble personalities in governance, including the likes of Theophilus Yakubu(TY) Danjuma and amongst others.

With the recent surge of insecurity, Nigerians can be confident in the unequivocal capacity of Mr. Ezekiel, who is also a renowned career security expert, with notable trainings both in Nigeria and abroad. Today, he is a household name in Anambra state, for making the historic achievement he made in the completion of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital(NAUTH) thereby moving the institution from its temporary site to the world-class permanent site, which was abandoned for over 30years, until Mr. Ezekiel came onboard the leadership of the institution as the Chairman of the Board of NAUTH.

While yet justifying the choice of Tinubu and Afunkoyo as the next President and Vice President of Nigeria respectively, the APC support group maintained that the duo have proved themselves worthy in several capacity and national assignments. The group therefore called on other civil society organizations to join the campaign for a better Nigeria under the leadership of Chief Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Mr. Ezekiel Afunkoyo.
