Northerner muslims sees him as a fake Muslim. Any other calendar apart from the Christian Gregorian calendar is fake, useless and unrecognized. The whole world and all the religions uses Christian gregorian calendar. That's superiority. I don't see any reason why this Man should be insulted simply because he expressed his opinion which I believe is of every Muslims in Nigeria. Please, let's be civilized for crying out loud. Nothing bad if the Government can declare the first day of Islamic calendar as public holiday.

Even Saudi Arabia recently dumb thier Islamic calender for the Gregorian one .Are you guys more holy than Saudi Arabian that started Islam ? 1st of January has no celebration behind it . It's was shifted to January 1st so that year can begin with that month instead of April.

The first day of Gregorian the first day is Jan 1 in that calendar

Gegorian calendar remains a calendar year of the Catholic Church now adopted by the world, it doesn't change the origin of that calendar been dedicated to christianity Easter from counting
