EKITI 2022: WHY THE YOUTHS NEED TO LOOK BEYOND THE WEIGHTIEST POCKET FOR THE RAVE OF THE MOMENT, KAYODE ADARAMODU.

As the case may seem to have become, there is no gainsaying in the fact that Nigerian politics has become a monetised wrestling battle of who has the fattest pocket. A sad reality of our situation coupled with other cluster of factors which have unfortunately thrown tons of our youths into untold subjugation, penury joblessness and political abyss. At the centre of this most trying, frustrating and traumatising experience are the youths whose perpetual plight are exacerbated by the indifference and insensitivity of government at all cadres. This insensitive is perhaps based on the premise of payback for fortunes exhausted in securing the people's support to actualize their leadership aim. However, the idea of sharing money and essential commodities has so far become a renowned populist tactic that play to the existential and tentative infrastructural needs of the people. Hence, exploiting the foundational existential needs of the electorate to further their political ambition. An idea which has shifted attention away from the infrastructural deficit that is undermining real development across all states of our country, towards a more immediate and existential “needs”. Although, many have erroneously justified this shift because it bothers on the survival of the people beyond the conscious capability of the government. Unfortunately, this idea has provided or created more platforms for greedy and unqualified politicians with weighty pocket to come in and become the cynosure of all eyes with palliatives that are temporary which are not even empowerments or viable infrastructure. Hence, the electorates, thus, mortgage their next four years of their sole right to hold their elected representatives up to good governance.
In contemporary politics, impoverishment has become a tactic. Withholding salaries with a view towards using it for campaign, sharing money and food items as an inducement to disrupt the electorate’s voting preferences among others have really brought to limelight how worse we have gone in today's politics. It has equally birthed incompetence, maladministration and corruption. This is in no doubt, a flagrant exploitation of the poverty of the people. Although, from the inward look of things in regards to the rampant level of poverty in the country, we may not necessarily blame these people but regardless, giving opportunities by electing young men who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours with no recourse to size of their pockets remains the panacea that will bring our dear country out of the dead woods.
How do we achieve this?
A good way to start is by taking our new decisions one step at a time?
However, as Ekiti Gubernatorial Election looms, there is a rave of the moment, a new man in the political arena with a whole lots of credibility, visions and intimidating resumé. He is Kayode Adaramodu. The popular choice of the progressive and forward minded youths.

WHY KAYODE ADARAMODU?

There have been noises being generated everywhere particularly in the media on youths being neglected in the political system. In the foregoing, a vast majority in the past have blamed it on the age limitation imposed by the electoral act (although now amended and implemented), others say it has a lot to do with the financial resources indirectly attached to campaign expenses. However, it is a known fact that the youths are bandwagon followers.

In recent years, there have been deliberate impoverishment of youths in terms of opportunities and ideas. These are stealthily executed with the active collaboration or better still, connivance of some youths who are sell-outs and on the desperate continuum to a short-cut to the future. There are infrequently youth-centred events and even with the few, old men are still designated the portfolio of overseeing them.

It is however a high time that we rose to the task and refuse to accept hand-outs or less than merited. In recourse to our experiences, the political sphere enables and provides us with an opportunity to join the melee in early preparation for the future. We must strive to make infusion to challenge the status quo, the ills.

In a nutshell, it is essential for us to realise and put at the back of our minds the salient truth which is in creating our own very opportunities and not wait on the same rank of people perpetuating our continuous subjugation to feed us crumbs. Our long awaited moment of political and economic activism is now.

We definitely have the decision and our fate in our hands and upon us for another fours years ahead, a new opportunity. As our dear state continues to undergo misappropriation, economic quackery and instability, it becomes important for us to start preparation towards correcting the unjustifiable ills and mistakes made at the previous polls in the state in order to forestall a possible recurrence.
We have got to push forward and rally round men of untainted records with the right political and economic acumen for office. We have to identify and discard the political rogues and crooks who have the gift of the gab and those with the curse of the purse who entice us with sweet speeches and manifestos and on election days ensnare us with tokens from their abhorrent and criminal purse to hand our future and mandate to them.

The time is now and we have to adopt the spirit of 'yes, we can' to encourage one of us (the youths) which is Kayode Adaramodu, a young man of enviable profile from a humble family in Ekiti South Senatorial District (Ilawe-Ekiti precisely) who has managed to build an amazing career as a business analyst, policy consultant, technocrat and economist.
Kayode Adaramodu is a charismatic leader and renowned philanthropist with track records of selfless individualized services to humanity.
His passion for youths empowerments epitomizes his unquenchable zeal to give back to the society that made him. It is on record how he has helped many young people with lifetime employments, skills, knowledge and capital required to set up their businesses across and beyond the chores of the state.
As a lover and promoter of sport, and talent hunter, Adaramodu has built a reputation for nurturing talents and thus, has touched and still touching many lives of our talented young men through his football club in Ekiti (Ojoko Football Club). A lifetime opportunity created for young talented players to play the game professionally abroad. Today, many of young talented Ekiti youths he helped are in Europe plying their trade professionally.
Kayode Adaramodu, Òdúndún Asòdedèrò as fondly called is a recipient of several awards of excellence in recognition of his immense contributions to the overall youths development.

His experience, local and international exposure, untainted antecedents, accessibility, transparency, kindness and humility are what distinguish him and have made him standouts from all other aspirants. His wealths of experience cut across indispensable sectors like financial services, technology, real estate, agriculture, and medical services.

Having a vibrant, visionary and energetic man like Kayode Adaramodu elected as governor would definitely birth a new Ekiti and lead the state to the promised land, assuring that the youths have the capacity to bridge the gap of leadership deficit, mistrust, wastefulness and maladministration that have gulped the state right from the independence.

My fellow Ekiti youth, the general belief is that we can influence the aspirants with our contributions by having one of us at the helm of affairs, the era of youths sitting in the boy’s quarters of power is over. Our strength is definitely evinced in our number, and the number is what we should use to achieve the required change. And as we know it, no change will come by our non participation in the political process neither will change come via perverted, misapplied and hate-filled social media messages.
Our desired change will come by active and objective contributions to the political systems, engaging the accessible aspirants in constructive discussions on policy issues. Kayode Adaramodu has so far shown his readiness to give us a listening ear and obvious mental sophistication to paddle the ship of leadership of Ekiti. There is also a higher tendency of our people growing beyond the current level of our mental configuration when we have Òdúndún duly elected as our governor which I believe would be as a result his own enormous intellectual virtuosity having shown his virtues of productivity, forthrightness, humility, goodwill, excellence, core value to all and sundry which have become a blueprint for many of us who look up to him as a mentor and as such, the belief is, he outrightly deserves to be given a fair chance. His uniqueness in style, ideas and visions is second to none. I have had opportunities to engage him one on one and I can confirm that he has the interest of the state and the people foremost in his heart. He's more than ready to serve. Let us entrust this smart and savvy young man of impeccable character with our unalloyed supports come 2022, I am very sure, he will surely deliver.
If we can dream it, we can achieve it. Yes, Ekiti youth, the time is now. We can make a difference with Kayode Adaramodu.
