Don't be carried away with what you see on movies. A real court session is different from that, it's not really "argument" as we put it.

I did my court attachment in one federal high court in Nigeria. During my attachment, we had a high-profile criminal case in my court.
The accused is a well known person, I won't mention his name.
Most of these lawyers come to "have fun" in court.
They just read something they have scribbled down, and then move for adjournment.

The funniest thing is they talk so slowly to allow the judge write down what they are saying, like it's dictation.

I am giving you this advice for free: don't join them to do crime, you will regret it when you think you can get away but you are eventually caught and abandoned soon as the sh*t hits the fan.
People will abandon you whether politics or not. You don't need to take my advice though. Some unwise ones need to learn the hard way before they realise that there are laws that will disgrace them and their families for life for breaking the law in this same Nigeria. we argue from loopholes in the law and technicalities with, arrogance, bold and straight face but still follow the rule of law and leaves decision for the judge.

Not everyone who employs us always wins. Sometimes we advice a client to take a plea bargain if we think we cannot win the case. Most of what we do is turn the truth upside down and see if we can get away with it. Afterall we are not the ones on trial or will go to jail.
