Nairaland founder and tech veteran, Seun Osewa, has called out a popular online news platform, Peoples Gazette, on its propensity for fake news or news with misleading titles.

Reacting on Twitter, Seun said: "I hereby urge @GazetteNGR to stop posting misleading headlines. The things happening in this country don't need to be exaggerated. The truth is sensational enough, most of the time."

Last year, a Vanguardngr publisher described the platform as an "online newspaper notorious for spreading outright fake news or fabricating reports out of their own imagination to malign the character and personalities of certain persons they have an agenda against." This was published few minutes after Bring Back Our Girls campaigner, Aisha Yesufu, called out the platform over a fake headline on one of Nigerians' favorite leaders, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Other notable members who have accused the platform are Mike Ozekhome , Ibe Kachikwu, Air Peace airlines boss, Allen Onyema, etc.
