Idado is located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, between Jakande and Chevron. It is about 15 minutes’ drive to Victoria Island & Ikoyi without traffic and about 30-45 minutes during rush hour.

Idado is a gated community without a central management authority, but a functional Landlords’ association. The area isn’t fully developed but a lot of new houses/ structures are being built. The major road in the area is interlocked, with drainage systems on both sides.

Entry into Idado is unrestricted, and there are different ways to access the community, security guards are stationed only at the main entrance gate. Most of the houses in Idado are duplexes and they are not uniform because people build to their taste.

SECURITY IN IDADO
Idado has one major entrance gate with security guards positioned at the gate. However, they do not search cars entering / leaving the community, and entry into the estate is unrestricted. There are no known cases of robberies or other violent crimes in the community.

TRAFFIC ADVICE

To get accurate directions and traffic time from anywhere in Lagos to Idado. Morning rush hour traffic when heading towards VI starts at about 6:30 am. During rush hour period (6:30 am – 8:30 am), it takes between 20 minutes – 40 minutes to get to Victoria Island from Idado, but only about 15 minutes drive during off peak rush period.

ROADS, DRAINAGE & FLOODING STATUS

Although the community is still developing, the main roads are interlocked. Some of the streets have very good interlocks, while others are just level ground without interlock. Drainage in the area is average, and not all streets have drainage channels. On some days, stagnant water in deep puddles on some street roads can make human and vehicular movement difficult.

ELECTRICITY & WATER SUPPLY
Electricity is solely provided by EKDC. There are no accurate estimates on the average duration of electricity because EKDC is generally unreliable. Most residents supplement with generators and inverters.

WATER SUPPLY
Most houses in the community have bore holes.

Waste management is handled by the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).
