Good development. Instead of those lousy NURTW collecting dues and feeding fat on the liquidity of the public transportation system, the someone of the money should also go to the state government coffers.

Did you read through the whole post, if you did, you would have read where the NURTW CHAIRMAN said this doesn't affect their usual levies

How then can Lagos attain the status of a mega city with such a policy? With modern buses and goods roads, Lagos should easily upgrade with good governance.

Ambode, inspite of his perceived shortcomings was on the verge of eliminating yellow buses. Each day Lagos state government appears to give an advantage to NURTW and further empower them to get more violent. MC Oluomo mentioned that the agreed N800 was not part of the union’s daily charge of N3,000. When aggregated, buses pay N288,000 yearly. That does not include daily delivery payments, hire purchase payments, regular maintenance, settlement to the police, Lastma, VIO and other groups on the roads everyday. Without doubt, more yoke is getting added on the people. Lagosians should expect an increase in transportation therefore from the first day of February. That added cost will be further aggravated by the impending rise in the cost of fuel in June.

What kind of government is this APC government?

The so called “last mile buses” have not been seen by most of the residents of the city. I also thought the present administration would have done more to strengthen public transportation by introducing more buses and new routes to reduce the suffering of the people.

It is obvious that the government does not have the masses at heart. The state government seems to abandon the masses at the mercy of the unions.

In what way?
Some of these transporters make more money than you as a salary earner or a small business enterprise. If government is collecting tax from you what is stopping them from transporter who benefit more on good good roads being maintained by state government.

I believe you comment negatively because of hatred for Tinubu

Good roads you say? By the time you pay double the amount of money, body go tell you. It's evident that you're benefiting from this as you see no wrong in it

This what you get with APC. Hardship!
What surprises me is that many of the victims will still be rushing to vote for their oppressors.
I'm still wondering how someone can still come out shamelessly to say he belongs to APC.

I wanted to react negatively just like others but I noticed something. I didn't see the drivers' representatives at the meeting complaining. That means given the various smaller multiple amounts they were paying before, this harmonised version must be a better deal for them.

Why will they complain when the only party that is paying is not at the meeting ..The passengers

This is outrageous!
This is a firm of tax and shouldn't be more than #200!
This is pure robbery.
Lagosians are being robbed everyday by agberoes now the govt too?!
Transporters are forced to pay all manner of levies in full by agberoes and govt officials early in the morning and these transporters don't have the guarantee that they are gonna have a successful day..their vehicles can get broken down or arrested by police, council, bio or lastman...

One important factor that was left out in reaching this decision is the drivers themselves. NURTW. Does not represent the interest of drivers. They are interested in their own pocket, they don't fight for driver. I bet you. You will see drivers reaction
