The VAPP act has not been domesticated in any state in Nigeria by the state assemblies. So it only has jurisdiction in the fct. Our states are still stuck with section 6 of the criminal code.
Again, the VAPP act only expanded the scope of definition of rape to become gender neutral and beyond vagina penetration (now all penetration anal, vaginal, ear, mouth etc). The tail end of section C even limited spousal rape to a case of impersonation! Where there are no laws against, there are no sins committed against.

NB; I am not in any way in support of spousal rape as it’s morally wrong for me, I am only pointing out the fact our laws are somewhat outdated and our rubber stamp male dominated lawmakers are not in tune with reality.

No woman I call a wife will even think of trying that with me, for any reason. In fact, na she go dey chase me sef.
