We have been informed by the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Power, Hon. Ebitei Tonyon that vandals pulled down two major electricity towers owned by the Transmission Company of Nigeria located inside Tombia bush.

The commissioner said the vandals dismantled the towers from the base as they kept removing the poles overtime until it lost balance and fell. Some stolen parts were found in the scrap market and security men are making moves to arrest the culprits.

Yenagoa will be in darkness for more than two months or more as Feeder one and two are on the ground until it is raised up or an alternative means is devised the darkness will continue.

Sometimes these power companies push people to vandalise their property.

Why want people pay outrageous money every month for service not rendered in the name of estimated billing?

There are times I wish everyone could act like me with respect to electricity consumption.

You bring an outrageous bill at the end of the month, we won't pay. You disconnect the power lines from the poles, we won't bother to reinstall it.

Keep this going long enough and you realise we can do without your power supply.

to generate power the govt needs money.
To get money, people needs to pay bills.

U see most Nigerians love to cut corners and that's what's holding us back, an average Nigerian will prefer to give bribe so as to avoid bills or taxes and those bribes are going to individual pockets therefore some sector doesn't generate enough money for funding and improvement e.g NEPA with official who will rather collect NEPA bill instead of distributing meters, and na those same people go shout say Nigeria corrupt

When they say corruption, its not just the politician but everyone, from the presidency down to those doing illegal business

In saner climes, fixing this should not take this long

they should divert the power to other states that require it

until they learn how to conduct themselves in civilized manner

I thought they've banned those metal scrap collectors in Yenagoa, those guys are a nuisance and even mechanics are complaining, they steal anything that can move an inch but if you wear them, one Alahji will surely call from above
