In Nigeria, private securities are not licensed to carry fire arms. You don't expect them to face armed men.

What do you expect unarmed private security operatives to do in the face of armed men?
Re: Gunmen Raid Thisday Abuja Office, Threaten To Kill Staff by Danjikanbauchi: 2:29pm On Jan 28, 2022
DSS hand work, if they want to commit crime they will call themselves Gunmen, but if media capture them they will say it's operation.

Just like they did in Sunday Igboho house.

Buhari will try but he can't destroy this country.

They want to replace the security outfit.
Please submit ur CV for immediate employment.

Such activities are very possible in that area cos there is no security there especially by that time the attack took place.

Abokis have a field day in those areas once it is dark

They rob people with keke along tunde idiabon road just beside that utako garage mostly once it is dark.

All those small small businesses around that area are been attacked or robbed at night by these abokis

The number of miscreant abokis in this area is very very alarming.

Jabi garage and its environ are haven to these elements.

The security cannot do any thing cos they are abokis and getting ready for jihad

To your greatest surprise you will find out that they are security agents, same thing happened in imo when such Nwosu was arrested people thought he has been kidnapped. Nigerian security agents don’t have any ide of action they just come in and behave anyhow they like

Stop putting mouth on things you have little knowledge about. So private security are using cutlass ?

You are the one putting mouth on what you don't know.
Most of these outsourced security outfit are not even trained. They are not armed.
Most companies employ them not even to challenge armed robbers.
They mostly employ them to monitor staff against pilferage and other minor theft.
Secondly if it is a company that has Staff Union operating, it will be easier for the management to control the gate that is bn manned by external security than the one manned by internal security.
That is, if you understand what I mean.

You can't bluff your way out of this. Those private guard boys would be well out of their league with well armed criminals.

The NSCDC as regulatory body over all private guard companies does not just license arms to every private guard company. And where those arms are licensed, both the arms and ammunitions accompanying then are held under the tightest security and sense of due diligence.
Take Proton or Halogen Private Security Companies which are Class A security companies for example. The number of pump action rifles licensed to them are not enough to go round all the beats under their jurisdiction. A beat is a security post, namely a client, they're guarding by the way. If they have 80 beats in Abuja, they would still not be licensed to bear more than 8 pump action rifles which can't go round and is now left to their discretion to decide which beats are high-priority beats to use them at.

Security wise, that ThisDay Newspaper building is not far from Garki Area 1 and well under the jurisdiction of the NSCDC FCT Command and there was even a pin-down point very close to the building, they could've requested for 4 or more NSCDC Arms bearing personnel who are well trained, armed and would run shifts while using the PGC security boys for gate-opening, access control etc rather than expecting the unarmed private guard boys to eat bullets.

If they didn't want that, the Nigeria Police Force FCT Command by old CBN is not far from that ThisDay Newspaper office and equally claims jurisdiction for their security. They could've visited the CP and secured a detachment of 4 to 6 personnel to secure their building.
Private Guard companies

The entire idea of private guard security boys repelling armed criminals just like that is a fallacy in today's Nigeria.

go and check thisday editorials and see if there is any damming report against a politician if you find one there is your culprit. also does this act not show that unknown gunmen are politically sponsored and has nothing to do with IPOB

It's likely to be the DSS. They are the Gestapo arm of this administration and can't be trusted not to be engaging in these acts.

The DSS attack on Sunday Igboho's home is still fresh in the mind of Nigerians.

fortified where? Have you been to the office at all? One open barren land behind Chida Hotel.
