The sheer number of cheap Chinese radios, torches, phones, and other light electronic products used in Nigeria and around Africa shows the deep market for these products, albeit Nigerians have been reduced to just sellers of these products and consumers, why can't Nigeria build an industrial base to manufacture these products, instead of spending billions for imports and boosting the Chinese economy, apart from foreign exchange savings, and job creation, the industrial capacity and experience will be invaluable. Why have successive governments not focused on light manufacturing. What needs to be done for Nigeria to build such strong industrial base, apart from the usual electricity. What policies or infrastructure is really needed. Can't a government encourage and create policies to boost light electronics manufacturing in Nigeria. Let's deliberate on these.

You should start a factory if it's something you're passionate about.
