The Eeebook X205 is the worthy heir of the original Eee Pc 701, the first exponent of the netbook category arrived in Italy in 2007. It has the form factor of a traditional laptop, not a convertible; a choice that actually made it possible to create a much cheaper device with superior ergonomics.

Thanks to the relatively large 11.6 ″ screen and extended keyboard, reading smaller fonts is never a problem and typing is fast and error free.

The low center of gravity makes it very stable, even when used on the knees; the touchpad is large and precise, much more than the other products in this review, making it very effective. Therefore it can be a suitable solution for those looking for a light traditional notebook, which is inexpensive and comfortable in the iteration.

The hardware platform is the one most used on such products: 1.33 GHz Atom Bay Trail processor, 2 Gigabytes of Ram memory and 32 Gbytes of storage on a Sandisk eMmc module. The performance is in line with that of its competitors, and allows for easy use of classic office applications.

The frame is made of good quality plastic, comes in two colors and does not flex. The keyboard layout is very similar to that of a standard model, the key travel is short but crisp, and typing is comfortable.

During normal use the frame remains practically cold.
