hi peeps,this thread is for those of you that chose UNIBEN as either your first or second choice in the just concluded utme or for those applying through direct entry.One advice for you guyz is to start preparing for your pume as this is where most student fail to make an appreciable grade even after scoring 250 $ above in utme.
Another info i would like to pass across is dat u guyz should not be anxious,enjoy the few months remaining as after this months comes about 1-2 months of stress(for those dat will eventually get admitted anyway).
You can get updates directly from d uniben website at www.uniben.edu or visit this thread regularly for any info.I am a student of uniben so feel free to ping mefor any info pertaining to this year's admission.Dont fall into the hands of fraudsters by being too anxious,dont give any dine to whosoever for any admission runs.You are doing this at your own risk .

**Hello peeps,still on ťĥĕ problem of lack of adequate information before-hand,which I think is ťĥĕ most potential problem facing jambites $ with the on-time release of jamb results,ťĥĕ next thing to do is to now is check how much your jamb score will add to your final admission score.
For the past 3- 4 years,uniben has been consistent in using 50% of ur post- utme $ ťĥĕ rest comes from ur jamb score divided by 8.If this the case for this year(which I think would),then all u have to do now is divide ur jamb score by 8 $ see what you have.
If what u get after calculating this is not up to about 30-35 or there about,it pretty means you have to work hard enough to upgrade ur score to an appreciable level.Remember that this depends on your chosen course as some courses require that you score high to gain admission but I believe that this depends on your fellow contenders. Once again I will like to advice you guyz to read $ not depend on any type of malpractice because the journey you just started requires self-reliability to accomplish.

**for ur first question,scoring 223 is an average score but frankly speaking u need to put more effort because if uniben are to use their current yardstick,u only have 27.8 as jamb score,and for a course like pharmacy u need about a total score of 65 to be sure of been short-listed(am not saying that if u get a total score less than this means u will not get admitted as it depends on other candidates dat are trying to gain admission into pharmacy as well.).if other candidates do well above you,u might not get shortlisted,the main point is dat try and be among the top scorers at the end of the day.

**last year,jambites were allowed to use calculator but u have to be prepared as anything can happen.try $ get the pume past questions $ u will see dat most of the questions are not calculation-based.

**the pume questions for all department are drawn mostly from ur jamb subjects,(u know ur jamb subjects is usually 4 out of the five compulsory O level subjects)so for ur post ume,few questions will also be drawn from the fifth subject which u did not write in jamb.the point here is dat,most of ur pume questions are coming from ur jamb subjects

**bros wat did u say?students dat got admitted into medicine last year were later shared into other life science department.
putting medicine for uniben dis year is a bit risky ooo.uniben lost their accreditation last year

**i think u should refer to ur jamb brochure $ get the necessary info on wat uniben want from direct entry candidates.From wat i know,uniben have stated it clearly dat there is no direct entry into d school of medicine $ dentistry.pls check the 2011 jamb brochure for any update on that.

@el-gabi:if u divide ur jamb score by 8,it means u have about 30.1 as your uniben jamb score.Getting admission into elect/eng depends on the outcome of pume for all applicant into your preferred course.I know of a student dat got admitted into chemical eng. With å an average score of 60 and another student got 65 $ also got admitted last year.Now dat u have 30 marks already,you must work hard to make sure u score about 60-70 in ur pume so dat wen it is divided by 2,u will have 30-35.this will be added to ur jamb score of 30 making a average score of 60-65.if u can beat this score,I bet u will be among tops in ur course $ u will be given admission.ťĥĕ major thing is dat cut-off marks are not decided before post ume,they are decided after post ume.
If we have up to 500 applicants for å particular course $ d school only needs 100 students,after the pume exam,it is d first 100 highest scorers dat will get admitted into dat course independent whetter u passed or did well.the only help dat can be given to a student dat did well in post ume $ did not gain admission(probably because he/she is not among ťĥĕ first set of required no of students) is to transfer him/her to å similar department dat has space for applicant.One fact is dat,if after writing post ume $ wen u calculated ur average score,u did not get up to 50,then u cant get ťĥĕ option of getting admitted into å similar dept.
