i got banned by the bot a couple of times replying your lies so i just stopped as i very well know you're not interested in the truth. Did you know that hell fire awaits you for eternity? Of course you do, but you are fantasized with my captivity instead.

I wonder what kind of nasty Jehovah inspired filth you would have spewed out that the bot would ban you. Let me show you the future planned for you:

10 Foreigners shall build up your walls,
and their kings shall minister to you;
for in my wrath I struck you,
but in my favor I have had mercy on you.
11Your gates shall be open continually;
day and night they shall not be shut,
that people may bring to you the wealth of the nations ,
with their kings led in procession.
12For the nation and kingdom
that will not serve you shall perish
;
those nations shall be utterly laid waste.

Isaiah 60

You shall serve Zion under duress, and they will take all your wealth from you.

14Thus says the LORD:
“The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,
and the Sabeans, men of stature,
shall come over to you and be yours;
they shall follow you;
they shall come over in chains and bow down to you.
They will plead with you, saying:
‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other,
no god besides him.’”

Isaiah 45

You are already in chains. Spiritual and mental chains.

alchemist13:
Let me ask you 3 questions:
I love questions, so be my guest. The floor is all yours

alchemist13:
Is burnt offering not a way to give (literally offer) something to Yahweh?
Hosea 6:6
'Because I have pleasure in goodness and not in sacrifice,
and in the knowledge of God more than burning peace offerings

(i.e. I would rather have my people know Me than burn offerings to me)
'

Only one person was asked, as a test, to give a human being as a burn offering to God, and once Abraham finished the test, he was shown, what he was to give God, as an acceptable burnt offering, which, is an animal, and not a human being, just as Abraham has passed the test with prophesying, at Genesis 22:8, with the words: 'God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son"', just he and his son, Isaac walked on together.

Romans 12:1
'Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God,
which is your spiritual service of worship.
'

Moving forward, as for now, its a living sacrifice that God endorses and looks forward seeing (i.e. Romans 12:1), just as Jephthah's daughter did, in her time. She was ahead of her time then (i.e. she resigned herself to a lifetime dedication, lifelong devotion to all things and/or everything pertaining to God. She presented herself and body as a living sacrifice, for the rest of her life, as an offering and service to God)

alchemist13:
So why contrast this two phrases as different vows?
It is because of what 'it' is. The whole two rephrases were constructed as a veiled combo vow

alchemist13:
is the it in that phrase not referencing whatsoever in the earlier clause?
Watch this, to see how foolish and unreasonable your trading with ignorance currency is.

Jephthah says, 'whatsoever comes forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's' The $64,000 question, is, if the first thing, that comes out of the house to meet him was a pig, do you really believe, that, Jephthah will offer, 'it', (i.e. the pig, a sacrilege) up to God, as a burnt offering. Hmm? Ruminate on that thought for as long you want please. Give it a careful consideration.

Listen up. The same way, why, Jephthah wouldnt offer 'it', is same way, especially, for sake of your argument, that Jephthah would not offer or give as burned sacrifice, a human being

Isnt it amazing how you keep moving away and distancing yourself, from the critical and crucial significance of the 'it' detail

Jesus hadn't come then.
So it was an Act of FOOLISHNESS, judgeable by God.

Jesus came 4000 years later

orisa37:

On the contrary, as, on some many levels, it was an Act of WISDOM, and seen by God, to be full of good sense or judgement, since human sacrifice was never considered by Jephthah, being that human being given as burn sacrifice is known to be 'haram'

The world remembers Jephthah because he did something really great. Did something not unwise.

Read Leviticus 1:1-17 and Leviticus 6:8 –13 to get a sense of what are the requirements for burnt (i.e. bulls, sheep, goats and birds) and grain offerings

Hebrews 11:32
'And what more shall I say?
For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah
, of David and Samuel and the prophets,
'

On the contrary, the world and heaven (i.e. go check out Hebrews 11:32 for this) remembers Jephthah because he did something really great. Did something not unwise.

Reiterating, go read Leviticus 1:1-17 and Leviticus 6:8 –13 to get a sense of what are the requirements for burnt and grain offerings. It is not hard or difficult to know that the former, explicitly, are to be bulls, sheep, goats and birds.

'Let the dead bury the dead' truly indeed and there is not a single word of Jesus, to which the Christian religion, has paid less attention to, than this one. In a way that is not ironic, Matthew 7:6, flashed in my mind.

orisa37:
JESUS IS THE THEORY ...
Hebrews 4:15
'For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations,
but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are,
yet without [committing any] sin.
'

Hebrews 2:18
'Because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted,
He is able to help and provide immediate assistance to those who are being tempted and exposed to suffering.
'

Jesus is the theory and as well is the practical

The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on that Matthew 22:40 commandment and its other twin one.

So to conclude we. can say that the. Bible contradicts. itself o n the issue. of. human. sacrifice.

Without a doubt. yhwh once. asked for. human sacrifices, even the. first. born of. all the Israelites. Yet. in. other passages it claims to denounce the practice.

But to trump it all, what we are told is the culminating event in the bible is itself a human sacrifice, to wit, the sacrifice of Jesus to yhwh for the remission of sins.

So while claiming to reject human sacrifice we find that the entire book points to human sacrifice as it's apotheosis.

PastorAIO:
So to conclude we. can say that the. Bible contradicts. itself o n the issue. of. human. sacrifice.
1 Samuel 15:22
But Samuel replied,
“What is more pleasing to the LORD:
your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice?
Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice,
and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

Psalm 40:6
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
but my ears You have opened.
Burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not require.

Psalm 51:16
For You do not delight in sacrifice,
or I would bring it;
You take no pleasure in burnt offerings

Mark 12:33
and to love Him with all your heart
and with all your understanding and with all your strength,
and to love your neighbor as yourself,
which is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."

So to conclude we can safely and by way of reassurance, say that the Bible contradicts not itself, in any shape or form on the issue of human sacrifice. It is obedience and living sacrifice that God delights in. God has no delight in any unholy, sinful dead human being sacrifice

PastorAIO:
Without a doubt. yhwh once. asked for. human sacrifices, even the. first. born of. all the Israelites. Yet. in. other passages it claims to denounce the practice.

25Moreover, I gave them statutes that were not good and rules by which they could not have life, 26and I defiled them through their very gifts in their offering up all their firstborn, that I might devastate them. I did it that they might know that I am the LORD.

You do know Ahab i believe. He is not related to AIO in anyway and i don't know how Ahab is AIO's people. It's a joke that Ahab of all people is referred to as open hearted and honest.
Of course, you do know that Ahab put God's prop

PastorAIO:

Actually it is not well. Not for anyone deceived by Yhwh. It is a dangerous game to play with an entity that is given to mendacity and lying. I see my people going to yhwh with an open heart, making honest enquiries of yhwh, and being led to their destruction thereby.
'[/b]

I wondered why you were suggesting that Ahab was my people but I ignored it because I thought it was just another distraction. But I realise why you say that now. So let me explain.

Perhaps you haven't noticed but I'm a Nigerian. I consider Nigerians and africans in general to be MY PEOPLE. I refer to the deplorable state of my country Nigeria where YHWH has sunk his talons into the minds and souls of much of the population. I see the distress of the people. I hear their prayers and their pleas and supplications. I had an aunt crying in front of me wondering why my cousin, her son, inexplicably died in the prime of his youth, during morning prayers for that matter. She woke him up to pray in the morning. They got on their knees and prayed then he stood up and just collapsed.

I see the correlation between the rise of YHWH religious madness in Nigeria and the worsening conditions of the people. I take a look at the history of Yhwh's worship. I see that it is shortly after Rome adopted Christianity as it's state religion that Rome fell. As Europe embraced it Europe slipped into the dark ages. In order to rise out of this morass the europeans had to embrace humanism and curtail the influence of religion on politics and public life.

I see the wallowing in ignorance across Nigeria with the increased embrace of yhwh and I realise that we have landed ourselves in a very hot pepper soup with the worship of this ghoul. The actual text of the bible confirms that what is happening to us is what should be expected with the worship of this monster.

This is what I mean by my people going to yhwh with open heart and being led to destruction thereby.

When Abraham wanted to sacrifice Isaac, was it not God that stopped him?
So why did God not stop Jephthah? Obviously he wanted human sacrifice.
The Bible says that God delights in the smell of burnt offering. Maybe the smell of goats and cows wasn't enough anymore.
Where in the Bible did it say Abraham wanted to kill Isaac? grin
Do you people read this your Bible at all?
