how exactly did you lose that kind of money?? If you are into crypto or forex or something like that then there is no correlation between your giving and losing but just mere coincident.
And also if you are the type that feels if he gives he will receive 10x and that's the reason for giving instead of it just been giving from his heart and then because of that mindset that you have done something good so the universe should repay you and then you decides to do some risky business then it's your fault

Thirdly if you dont fall under all those Categories I listed up and you gave without expecting anything back and you just so happen to have bad luck of losing money when you give on that same week then all I have to say is pray and check people you give your money to and this shouldn't stop you from giving.

OP I nor know oh if some people are cursed to suffer... I have fallen into a very similar situation three times too. One in 2011,another in 2016 and the most recent was last year. And it involves giving to a group or crowd of people..the following months or weeks, him go be like "ehen,na you abi? You want dey form say you Don get small thing abi? Na you want free who we Don tie?"..... Sometimes I even feel like some of the people fit even dey fly lol...but guess what? If opportunity still arise to help,I will do it gladly!!

For real, me too. I noticed that anytime I hand over a cash gift to the person bad luck follows, not once or twice has it happened but a lot of times. So I switched to buying gifts and other stuffs instead of cash gifts. That's what I do now except giving my family money.

same stuff happened to me...i assisted one guy here who posted pics of his medical issues. and the guy is also physically challenged. Omo that week i lost huge amount. I almost became a beggar. I am not accusing anybody but somethings just don't add up. and this is not the first, second or third time such stuff is happening to me. but that won't stop me from giving sha, cos giving na part of me.

The same thing that is pushing you to be doing immature give away is the same thing pushing you not to plan properly of how to spend your money.

If I ever help someone again in this life ehh....
