Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has being doing a lot for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Northeast of Nigeria but this has mostly gone unpublicized.

Osinbajo who is known for his silent philanthropic activities has built schools and homes in Borno state to help educate and house children who have been affected by insurgency in the region.

In a video which Chronicle NG saw on YouTube, the Vice President explained that he started the empowerment programme as he turned 60.

The privately funded programme also empowered the people of Borno state as it created job and renewed belief amongst communities in the northeast.

To achieve the objective of reaching out to IDPs, the former Attorney General of Lagos state founded the North East Children’s Trust (NECT). The projects are funded by Osinbajo and friends in the private sector.

One of his silent impact to Nigerians

Osinbajo is a man filled with so much empathy.
I remember during one of his visit to Borno State in 2015, the predicament of Baby Aishat Ibrahim, a victim of the Boko Haram bomb explosion earlier in the year, caught his attention.

Quickly, Osinbajo paid for her surgery medical bills, Local and international plastic surgeons carried out a successful reconstructive surgery on Baby Aishat Ibrahim.

Aishat sustained extensive burns to the eye, the face and chest. It was Prof. Ferdinand Ofodile, a US-based surgeon that led the four-hour surgery.

He is simply outstanding.
