Peseiro: Why Contract Talks With NFF Broke Down Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro has offered explanations on why his contract talks with the Nigeria Football Federation fell through, Completesports.com reports.< Peseiro was announced as replacement for German tactician Gernot Rohr last December and was expected to travel to Cameroon for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. The NFF has however decided to stick with interim manager Austine Eguavoen for now despite the team's early elimination from AFCON 2021. I don't really have issue with this Peseiro guy shaa But this NFF has shown that they are taking Nigerians for a ride Imaging all the confusion they are causing Nigeria.... And now willing to do the right thing 1. They just sacked Rohr and appointed Egweuaveon on an interim bases 2. When the interim has not resumed they brought in Peseiro and deceived us that he was 'anointed' by Mourinho to coach Nigeria When it was obvious that his CV is not up to scratch 3. They told the whole world he has ALREADY signed a contract and MUST take over after AFCON. Now they are saying e was relieved due to break down in talks..... Who is deceiving who 4. From the onset we were clamouring for Emmanuel Amunike but ego ad politics wouldn't allow them But finally they are back to the bases , if only we can do the right things at the right time.... See small with Senegal with indigenous coach Cisse just won the AFCON because they believed in him and stayed with him till he won 26 Likes |

Lars was employed months before 2010 worldcup n we left in d group stage with a very bad performance, lars excuse was dt he wasn't given enough time to study n get used to our players... it seems mr eguavon know dm well, so he gets d job.. 52 Likes |

The truth is that NFF come later discover say we no need am again..If Cisse, an ex senegalese player can win their first AFCON trophy with dem after 8 fvcking years,I wonder why our own ex players here shouldn't be given similar opportunities too. 46 Likes 3 Shares |

Great move by the NFF. we really can't afford to waste precious foreign exchange on a foreign coach at this point in time. 1 Like |

If they like they should appoint an alien from Jupiter to coach them I don't care.......All I want is good performance from the team. The players disappointed Nigerians at the just concluded AFCON after giving us high hope. 2 Likes |

Most of you posters up there do not really know or understand the level of corruption that goes on in that "glass house" of the NFF. You'd think those at the helms of the National football body really care about our football teams at the expense of their pockets with these their sugar-coated reasons. I wholesome believe the Portuguese's version of the story. I am sure he refused to share or kick back a portion of his proposed monthly earnings in Dollars for them to share as usual. Wicked thieves. If we indeed had an anti-corruption fighting agency and were desirous to fight corruption, the EFCC should be debriefing this guy to know wet in him ear, hear, and eye see. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Eguavoen lacks technique and tactics. Tunisia game exposed him. 4 Likes |

Thought the whole contract thing was concluded before announcing him manager. Anyone who knows eguavoen knows he's more of a politician than a coach who would have assured the NFF rogues of his pliability to all their heist plans. That's besides the fact that he's a technically naive coach. Beaten by Tunisia in 2004 and getting beaten by them in 2022 hardly shows him as someone who has any idea about what he claims to be doing. We wait and see 2 Likes |

What positive performance? A team that was good on paper to win the AFCON could not even scale through the round of 16. A team that plays wing football could not even deliver dangerous set-pieces. A team where the average height was 6'1 could not even score a single header from set-pieces & corners. All Tunisia needed to do was block moses Simon and the team collapsed. No game reading technicality, no squad rotation. Ndidi, moses Simon, iheanacho did not need to play the 3rd group stage match especially as we had qualified. I doubt we would qualify from the group stage of the World Cup with a coach like eguavon that's if we even beat Ghana. 4 Likes 1 Share |
