The United States Department of Justice have accused Ilya Lichtenstein, 34 years old, and his wife, Heather Morgan, 31, of conspiring to launder 119,754 Bitcoin stolen from Hong Kong-based Bitfinex, a crypto currency platform.

In 2016, Bitfinex fell victims of an hack on its exchange system. This hack resulted in the loss of 2,000 unauthorized transactions. The US prosecutors said some of the funds worth $3.6 billion of the transaction was linked to couple’s bank account.
