By StandOut Africa Media

Appalled by the rising spate of Insecurity, brain drain and the need to increase the Kaduna State foreing Direct investment, The Frontline Gubernatorial Aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2023, Hon. Sani Sha'ban (Danburam Zazzua) alongside the Chairman United Kingdom Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr Thomas George John MBE Nigerian High Commissioner, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola and Mr. Jimmy Ovia, the founder of Zenith Bank Nigeria at the British House of Commons to dialogue on the way forward between UK and Nigeria and to seek proactive measures to the perennial challenges bedevilling the Center of learning.

Hon. Sha'ban revealed that the persistence of insecurity in Kaduna has been claiming precious lives of citizenry and government efforts to
tackle the problem through various menial methods and approaches such as the use of police, military, vigilante seems not to be yielding success.

*Hon. Sani Sha'ban stated that the role of ICT in tackling crime in modern times cannot be over emphasised. He opined that besides its speed, technology- driven surveillance and intelligence gathering cost less in terms of men and logistics. He noted that the United Kingdom, the United States and some countries in Europe, Asia, Middle East and even in Africa are taking proactive steps at checkmating threats to their national security by latching onto revolutions in ICT.*

He recalled how Nigerians watched in amazement how America deployed its security system to track down the April 13,
2013 Boston Marathon bombers. Similarly, in less than five minutes the images of the two men who hacked
down a brave soldier on London Street on May 22, 2013, appeared on television screen around the world. He restated that there were no guess works in those scenarios, which make many Nigerians get disturbed by the many cases
of unresolved high profile crimes in the country.

*Hon. Sha'ban therefore advised the Kaduna State Government to deploy technology, through the use of ICT devices such as computer, internet, mobile phone, close circuit television (CCTV), surveillance cameras, social network analysis, biometry surveillance, data mining, satellite imagery, IP devices and the satellite would definitely produce the desired results.*

On tackling brain drain which has seen a mass exodus of skilled Kaduna workers in particular and Nigerians in general to developed countries. Hon. Sha'ban stated that the best approach to put a stop to brain drain in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large is improvement in working conditions of high skilled professional, providing a good working environment, good infrastructures like a clean and healthy environment, maintenance of working equipment, health of the workers and conducive working hours, placing a high level of premium on professionals and also viewing and treating professionals as integral part of nation builders.

Hon. Sha'ban assured that when elected as the governor of Kaduna State in 2023, He shall strengthen the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, rejuvenate it to target suitable foreign investors and be the link between them and the domestic economy. On the one side and act as a one-stop shop for the requirements investors demand from Kaduna State. it will further act as a catalyst in Kaduna State economy, prompting it to provide top notch infrastructure and ready access to skilled workers, technicians, engineers and managers that may be required to attract such investors in other to ensure that the foreing direct investment flowing into Kaduna State goes above and beyond it's present state as reported by the bureau of National statistics and the Central Bank of Nigeria.
